I just find it hard to believe that anyone that knows anything about softball..How could they not know that if you can't hit the long ball the middle is your best choice!! I know I would never try to hurt anyone but at the sametime I swing as hard as possible everytime. So if I know it's going to hurt my team I gonna hit it whereever it goes not intentionaly. But I'm going try to not hit straight at a infielder.I just dont understand how people that should know the game, that is if there making the rules of the game should know this.I'm not a hr hitter by no stretch but at the sametime I dont dink either.

I guess what I'm saying is if I was to come up to bat and a have couple guys on and I do have one of those moments I do see why I should be penalized for it. Thats all I'm saying

No lecak I'm not what you call a power hitter I do have my moments...lol. But it's hard to find teams looking to be honest there are many very good players in the Ga area as I'm sure there are everywhere.

I have only played senior ball one yr. but have played softball for over 30.And for the life of me I can't understand whats wrong with hitting hr's? Thats part of the game like anything else. And by making them singles would that also help to protect the pitcher? So thats kinda killing 2 birds with one stone.A lot of us work very hard at learning what pitch to hit and timing for the pitch throwing your hands shifting.etc... for it to be an out.

Hey Dave,
Good to see you on here. It's seems to be hard to find a senior team that needs players unless you know someone, or it has been for me anyway. I sure hope everything works out for ya. And be looking forward to seeing you in Jacksonville in Feb. If there's anything I can do for ya let me know.

I'm 51 and live close to Savannah and I have a buddy that is 50 both of us would like to find a team. I can play the outfield or pitch and have a decent bat, And my firend is an infielder and also can hit very well.We both would be willing to come and try out hot bp whatever it takes to join.I have played one yr. senior ball and enjoyed it. I'm also the kind thats man of my word and dedicated.

I just dont see why they don't leave well enough alone!!! I do understand why it's some concern about pitchers because I am one also, but at the sametime I'm a grown man and take full responsibility when I go on the mound. And if and when I feel I need to protect myself I have the equip. to do so.(So just leave the bats and balls alone.)
Now u-trip is trying to dumb down the balls.Has anyone or assoc. ever shown the public how many were hurt from the current bat& balls we use now?

Discussion: Why have 11 on defense for 70+ teams?

I know this answer is sounding like I'm trying to be a smart guy but believe me I'm not just trying to understand myself. You say that you think the 11 on defense is to protect the pitcher? Does he play between the batter and the pitcher? if not I don't see where he's protecting anything except a base hit up the middle? Am I thinking correct on this or just talking? And I would also like to say I really enjoy seeing you older guys play when I go to a tourney I'm only 52 and sure hope I can still play like you guys.If the lord willing I guess I will!!
