| Oct. 30, 2007 TGIII | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: the umps in Phoenix Our team had the good fortune to play at Papago Sports Complex. We played eleven games, so we got to see most of the umpires throughout the tournament. For myself, I found every umpire consistent in their calls, easy to talk to when you had a question, and conducted themselves professionally. My hats off to them and want to say thank you for a job well done. I also want to say thank you to both of the Co-Tournament Directors assigned to Papago. We had a concern early Sunday morning regarding field conditions and they responded quickly to mitigate the problem. Both Directors did an excellent job in quickly setting up the elimination bracket board and posting the schedule in a timely manner. The Top Gun III team has three players that have had to evacuate their homes and many more that are keeping a close vigilence. It really brings it close to home when it effects people close to you.
