mad dog ... I wouldn't use the term "great" to describe the fields at Krieg ... They are adequate.

coop3636 ... "1 per the first 4 innings and 2 in the 5th" equals 6 runs ... Just sayin'

Poor answer, Dave ... The fact is that many of us pay a lot of money for the privilege of playing in one of your tournaments ... Not all of us play on a sponsored team ... Airline tickets, hotel, car, food, entry fee all add up, usually $1000 and more ... Then to have to pay to get into the park where the games are being played? ... Plucks a nerve, Dave, just like your thoughtless post.

In a previous post in this thread, SSUSA Staff says the contract runs through 2021 ... gott2play's credible source says the contract was extended for an additional 10 years ... Who's right?

Discussion: batter's box

SSUSA Staff ... I took a look at the rule book you have online ... The batter's box is 3' x 7', with 4' extending from the middle of home plate forward and 3' extending from the middle of home plate backward ... You are considered "in the box" if any part of both feet are either on the lines or within the lines of the batter's box ... Thank you for the references ... It seems that every time I ask someone about the rules governing "in the box" and "out of the box", I get a different answer ... However, the rule book seems very clear on this subject ... Are these rules different depending on the association (SSUSA, SPA, ISSA, USSSA, etc.)?

What are the official dimensions of a batter's box in senior softball?

What are the rules surrounding being considered "in the box" and "out of the box"?

Richard ... I'll be in your area during the month of October ... What are the chances I'll be able to catch on with a team for a short period of time?

You have a strange way of showing it ... In your previous post you seemed more concerned about the Winter Worlds and the Winter Nationals.

Discussion: Time to move TOC

SSUSA Staff ... Perhaps it is the TOC that is being irreparably harmed by other tournaments ... I submit that playing the TOC so many months after the season ends causes problems for the teams who have qualified ... Since the TOC is supposed to be the jewel tournament for SSUSA, why not treat it that way?

SSUSA Staff: Please!!! ... Many of us have complained for much longer than 3 years about the time frame chosen for the TOC ... Perhaps you can tell us what SSUSA's economic interests are in maintaining the current TOC dates and location.

Discussion: Good umpires / bad umpires

I was always of the impression that an umpire that hustled and got into good position was acceptable, until last weekend ... I played in a tournament where our umpire, and we had him for all of our games, hustled for good position but exhibited very poor judgement on his calls ... These calls included ones that benefited our team and ones that didn't ... If you can't make a correct call, all the hustle and positioning in the world won't make one a good umpire.
