| Sept. 2, 2004 SoCal'er | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: De Moines format Bob,I know there was a bat pulled in the 55's. Illegal bats, tanking games not a good thing. My guess is that SSWS dosn't want to recognise the other organizations rankings. It would be great to get an explanation. |
| Sept. 2, 2004 SoCal'er | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: De Moines format SSWS dosn't rate teams. They think they should play themselves into the correct level. Heard that during one of there games,it was stopped by a director who thought that both teams were doing what they could to lose and told the mgr's that she would let the winning team pick, there div. Then they played all out. Would like to know if anyone can verify that. |
| Sept. 2, 2004 SoCal'er | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: SSWS World Series 50's AAA Division Rabbit,Stig. We have played there twice, They have 2 div. upper and lower. Everyone starts in the upper,if you lose 2 within your first few, then you are moved to lower div. and start all over. Because there are Major + teams some feel they are justified tanking there games to get into the lower div. They don't(ssws) rate teams. |
| Sept. 2, 2004 SoCal'er | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: De Moines format What are your views on SSWS format of not ranking teams and letting them play down to the next division. Understand there was some REAL sloppy play in some games. |

| June 10, 2004 SoCal'er | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Home Team Advantage This season,at least in the 55 division's we have noticed that it's been very difficult to win unless your home team. Never noticed it like this before. It seems to be that way, here and out of town tournys. The rest of the teams from our area are noticing the same thing. Is it just us? In round robin tourny's,what do you think about making the schedule so you have 2 home & 2 visitors and flip on the last one. |
