almost got tossed off the VA property today. Seems they aren't or should I say weren't too happy with what my wife and I were doing....:)...The lady admin came shouting down the hall chasing me and some of the guys and I were heading to the REC room. Yelling I can't do this and that. "The VA supplies supplies all the REC equipment these men need" and so on. It was 10 mins of nonstop bitching to the extreme. I kind of just smiled and let her rant for a while. In the mean time she presses a button she was wearing and security shows up. They stand there listening to her go off. I don't think she knows that the security guy...I trained...they know me. One security guy looks at the other and quietly says watch this.....she finally quits talking and tells the guys to escort me off the property. They just looked and her...then at me...and said "no way. Do you know who this is?". Now it was my turn to speak. Back in the old days I was a DI at Ft. Lewis, so I get my old DI voice on and rip into her harder than Pit Bull eats a opossum. Finally she gets the point that I know more people there at the VA than she does. I pull out my cell and call the Hosp Administrator. I tell him whats going on. This ladies face is ghost white by now. She starts to leave and I tell her to stay right where she is. The head honcho shows up and just starts laughing. He dismisses the guards, tells the admin to shut the hell up and sends her to his office. He pats me on the back and says at least she's still standing...he had his doubts....what an exciting day!

we were delivering some softball equipment that some of the guys donated. It's kind of our thing. Thats where our Wounded Warriors are...well some of them at least. VA won't buy them softball equipment so I scrounge, beg, borrow and almost steal stuff so they can play.
