99 degree heat and the new Trump balls played fair for everyone hitting them... much better than the previous balls... North Cal needs to get these instead of the Fireball they are now using... Thanks SSUSA!

Hello Swing,

As you know, I am very familiar with the Baden Fireball, and have often recommended it on this site and to others. In what way was the Trump superior to the Baden? Played in Lodi a week ago and the temperature was around 100 and the Fireball held up well.

Omar, last year and this year in northcal, the fireball isn't the same as it was 3 years ago... it has changed.. I used to love the fireball.. now when it is over 80 degrees it is soft! I can tell be the amount of HRs... been very few compared to 3 years ago... the new Trump plays like the fireball of three years ago...

I completely agree with Swing on this. The new Stote was a lot of fun this weekend. Thank you SSUSA. Omar, they ruined the Fire. I know the cover was changed because it was splitting badly, but they must have changed the insides too. It's junk compared to this new ball and the old Fire.

Thanks Swing and ffdonnie. Here I thought I was just getting older and not reaching the fence anymore and now I realize they have tampered with the Baden! lol I'm looking forward to hitting and pitching with the new ball. My team didn't go to Western Nationals so I missed experiencing it. I believe in your two professional opinions.

The new Trump balls will play just fine in any kind of weather. It is the same exact ball as the ISA X-Rock with Microcell Technology that they use in Las Vegas for the last 6 or 7 years. One of my best friends knows this for a fact. You can go on and on all you want. The new Trump ball is not new. It is the same ball as Alan Tanners Team 1 Sports softball. Now the SSUSA will have less complaining about balls.Baden does not have the technology to build the same ball as SSUSA. They can pump up the cor/comp all they want. When it gets hot out the compression will go down. No Matter What. Good luck with the Trump/Stote ball. As long as they are all the same ball you should hear no more complaints. Friend of Will Sonnet.

No Brag Just fact!

Well the ball is new to most of us and to play in SSUSA. I love this ball compared to the old Stote/sock. It does still knuckle but doesn't seem to do so as drastically as the Rock. The outer layer didn't seem to feel as "squishy" as the Rock. No issues whatsoever with distance and pop. Thank you SSUSA for taking input from your customer base and implementing the upgraded ball.

In Las Vegas, we use the ISA X-Rock 50 weeks a year every Tuesday and Thursday. This week we tried the new SSUSA Microcell ball. It DOES NOT hit the same as the Rock unless you hit it square. Balls that carry out of the park by hitting the bottom half with underspin will not go as far as the Rock.

No the SSUSA ball will not fly exactly like the X-Rock. The difference is the leather. Synthetic leather will never fly like leather. Nuff said. But the ball will fly good in any conditon twice as good as the Stote 44/375. Proven Fact.

Does anyone know what ball is going to be used in Las Vegas for the World's this year. Some one on the east coast has started a rumor that the Rock isn't going to be used. If you know let us all know I hope it's still the Rock.

Rumors are like .... never mind ... The LVSSA has sole authority on the selection of the ball for the World Masters and the Southwest Championships events ... That has been "The Rock" ball and we have NO indication they will choose another ball ... Plan on "The Rock" ...

Where are y'all playing that you are using the new Trump Stote. They are still making us use the old POS Stote in Texas. Someone told me today that SSUSA had abandoned letting us use the new Stote. Please fill me in. I have a feeling this is the director in Texas causing us this issue. As hot as it is here the old Stote does not last very long.

I have been told that SSUSA has made a special order for the Rocks for Verea's this year but after that the Rock will be discontinued. Just what I was told so it is not written in stone but it did come from a very reliable source.

Heater40 ... As Tim McElroy so accurately and concisely posted in your thread: "Someone" gave you bad information, sir. ...

Just to provide some factual accuracy here for a change ...

1. The new STOTE ball was introduced and used for play starting with the Eastern & Western National's, the Northern's and Southern's and will be used in the upcoming Rocky Mountain's this week ... Independent T.D.'s, such as for the Top Gun's Summer Classic and (if you are correct) Texas events, may use the TRUMP ball for the remainder of this Season if they wish (primarily to consume any remaining inventory without adverse economic impact to them as individuals) ... For the 2019 Season, beginning in mid-October, the STOTE ball is the choice ...

2. We don't consider ordering "The Rock" as anything "special", since we've done so for the first seven years of the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters and Southwest events. LVSSA (wisely) did so for at least a decade prior to their merger with SSUSA ...

3. We have heard nothing, other than your random rumor, about any discontinuance plans for "The Rock" ... If that were to someday happen, LVSSA will undoubtedly select another appropriate ball for the World Masters and Southwest Championships ... We have complete confidence in their judgment ...

So, If I understand this correctly, the Rock will be used in Vegas-worlds, and the new ball will be used starting next year? is this correct?

That's the plan ... Except that the "new" ball is already being used, not "..starting next year.." ...

A friend of mine inspected (took apart) both balls the new one and then the X-Rock ball used in Vegas. The only difference is the outside cover is now synthetic. Should do a great job...
