| Oct. 22 ROOSTER10 Men's 60 91 posts | Just to get off the subject of balls etc.How did you on the message board come up with your profile handle name.In my case at one time I worked at the VA hospital in Boston and worked in payroll.I was the only guy so across the hall accounting Dept. called me the rooster who oversees the Hen house.I like #10 although as far as hitting that I am not.So hence I have used ROOSTER10 for my Handle.What is your story? |

| Oct. 22 #6 Men's 60 1173 posts | When I first started playing ball in what was called farm league here in Texas..my coach put me at shortstop,when he started handing out our uniforms...he said since I was the ss, he was going to give me #6........stayed with me thru,farm league,little league,pony league,colt league,jr. high,high school , american legion and on.......so I kept it. |
| Oct. 22 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | mine started back when i was in the military(69-73).i was a ty cobb type(no hi spikes tho)and played hard,had a couple of guys say i played like a mad dog,so it just stuck.number is 77 when i can get it b/c ray borque gave his number to phil esposito and he started wearing 77. |
| Oct. 22 2awesom Men's 50 308 posts | I once owned a 1992 GMC Syclone Truck. Everyone loved the truck, and called it Awesome. I then applied for an appropriate PA Vanity Tag, I came up with 2AWESOM. That plate is now on a 2008 Cadillac CTS. |

As for the Tate part, when the hair started turning white while I was playing in the 45's, a teammate's girl friend decided that I looked like Larry Tate from the Bewitched TV show. Once my Sun Devil teammates stopped laughing a half-hour later, the name Larry Tate has stuck ever since. |

| Oct. 22 hitman Men's 70 339 posts | Mine was given to me back in the early 70's by my teamates. I was playing in Pa. and the Pittsburgh Pirates had a player who hit a lot of P--ropes(Mike Easler) and they called him the Hitman. At the time I was a dead pull hitter and also hit a lot of lines drives. After one of the games a teammate called JEEP said hey Hitman and it stuck ever since. I can still hit the line drives but now use the whole field. The Hitman #13 |

| Oct. 22 Omar Khayyam 1357 posts | When I was a boy, I had a succession of turtles—you know, the kind you could buy at Woolworth's for about a dollar—and they all died, about one turtle a year, with the exception of one that was stolen! I have always loved the name Omar Khayyam after the great Persian poet, and so the turtles were named Omar Khayyam I, Omar Khayyam II, and so on. Finally stopped buying turtles, but I have found on different sites over the years that it is rare that anyone uses this handle. |

When I found the Mohr Softball message board about 10 years ago I needed an name and because I'm not very imaginative went with my name and state, also because it was short and easy to type. Maybe I should have made up an exciting story, sorry. |

| Oct. 23 Corky Men's 55 451 posts | I was playing in a National Championship in Mobile Alabama and took a hard line drive that ripped right through my glove. Although there were many equipment vendors there, I couldn't find anyone with a good left handed glove. In frustration I hollered "Doesn't anyone sell left handed gloves". I heard a voice from the Miken truck yell "I got you covered". Corky (the Miken Rep) pulled out a stack. He then said "Wait just a minute, have I got a deal for you". He pulled out this Steele glove that was already broken in and fit my hand perfectly and for $40 bucks. I didn't realize till after the tournament that Corky had etched his name on the inside of the glove and the guys on my team have called me Corky ever since. |
