Several of our guys went this camp and had a BLAST last yr. This was a great place to open the season with a lot of ball practice. Just like tournaments also a great place to meet and make new friends. Curt put on a great event for a very reasonable price. I plan to go again next yr as several of my guys do also. Looking forward to FEB see yall there.

No matter how much fun you have playing ball - this will be the (your) best softball weekend of the year.

If you have 1/2 a chance take advantage of what Curt puts together for this one weekend.

They usually have a team go play at a local prison that is volunteer and always a worthwhile experience.

I've traveled from CA and come back without dissappointment.

If you want to be around some fabulous hitters and people this is a must do.........

These guys know how to have fun - and if you like BBQ - J'ville is the place to be. Seems like about every other place to eat is a BBQ place.

The Classic is a great camp, especially if you want to knock off the rust from a few months of cold weather. You can do it at your own pace as well. What are the dates this year?

The camp sounds like a great place to work out the cold weather kinks and have some fun. I live in Utah, it would be nice if they put one of these on out west -- maybe in Nevada or Arizona. Have fun everyone and good luck in the upcoming season.

CallaVett,
Why wasn't it mentioned before, or at least this is the 1st post I have seen it mentioned...
I think it could be a big one. Or maybe that is why, too big.

I just returned from Jacksonville Classic Spring training hosted by Curt Hollis and his staff!

I met some good people (120+) including but not limited to "Mad Dog" , all of the guys all gals had a good time - There was plenty of BP. , A great banquet, lots of tall tales, several late nights, several early mornings - Then the best of all - NO RAIN!!!

Sat 75 Degrees
Sun 80 Degrees

Several prizes were given out at the banquet - the least of all 15-20 Free Bats!!!!!!!!!. Homeruns were plentious - I even witnessed Mad Dog hitting a couple of Taters!! WOW

Yes there was a lot of base hitting going on also - Many more games are won by base hitting - Than homeruns!!

But it feels good to hit them!!

See ya - Bruce, Mike, leroy, Tiny, Ed Reed, Joe and all of the many many more! Have a great 2012 Season

It was really good turn out & like Curt said its our CST you could hit as much as you want or just coast along. Its great for those who don't play a whole lot of league ball, & what is good about this you meat a whole lot of people young & old, slow & fast, and most of all funny. Everyone enjoy the up coming season & be safe. Semper Fi Gunny

I enjoy this event more each year. Of all the things I enjoy, meeting new friends like Gucci, Gunny, and Big D, and visiting with old friends like Curt, Mad Dog, Ray Ray and Bruce, is the best.

I don't believe that this event could be duplicated, because it would be almost impossible to find a group that would put in the time and effort that Curt and associates put in for no financial gain. I'm sure anyone who has been to one of the banquets and sees the respect given to the military appreciates what a good group of men and women they are. Thanks again, Curt

Yes, one swinging in the sr hr derby, one about at the 2:00 mark, giving high fives and several in the background of the hr derby's. I wore navy pants with white and Carolina blue side panels, with a navy Woodlawn hitting tee shirt.
Tiny must have paid you wife to take multiple pics of him!!
Tell your I really appreciate her doing that, it brings back pleasant memories of last weekend.

Mario, Mike Langford won it with 4 out of 8 swings. I was third with 2 I believe. That's what I get for talking him into attending this year!
I was surprised that several excellent hitters were unable to get even one.

So sorry that I missed all the fun. For a number of years now, I've heard what 4X4 said, that no matter how much fun you have playing ball, Kurt's Spring Training will be your best softball weekend of the year. Have a great year, guys!
