Learned last weekend the CA Barons team agreed to an exclusive bat deal with Demarini.

I know this is common in young guys softball... But....

Are the Barons the first senior team to get a exclusive bat contract for their team?

If this trend starts catching..... Could more senior teams be rewarded with exclusive bat deal?

Congrats to the Barons for being rewarded by Demarini for the strong finishes they have had over the last two years. I am sure you will do a great job representing the Demarini bat company.

Just one more question...... Are the bats really "pickle green"?

Define exclusive bat deal. there are many types of "DEALS"...
But if you mean supplying their bats for tourney use. no they aren't.
Do you feel left out?

An exclusive bat deal is when a team agrees to all swing a manufacturers bat and they get the equipment...bags, gloves, bats for cost.

I had a call today that said they old A's Team had an agreement to only swing Mikens some years ago.

Are the Barons to only team currently under an exclusive bat contract by a bat manufacturer?

As a member of Miken/Old South we signed a contract to only swing Miken.
This was about 10 years ago and don't know how many if any are currently under contractual agreements.

Tim,
Miken did a lot back then and still do. The call you got was correct. But there still are\ were others. A lucrative deal for both sides.
I'd be blessed for something that good.

I hear they are calling the new Demarini the "Woody".... A stiff pickle....

Now if they can figure out a way to get salt to stick to it, I am sure swing for the fences will love it...:-) he might never cramp again :-).....

LOL Timmy, It's nice to have friends in High places(Rick Damon)... Anyway, we were lucky enough to get a great deal from Demarini....

Are Baron team is self sponsored! Bat deal was a buy in at cost! So we had to buy the bats and bag and gloves at cost! Still a great deal!

Now as for the pickle analogy, I think you are a bit Obsessed with the Pickle thing! I never brought up Pickle juice but you seem to be running hard with it! no pun intended! I talked to Perry the other day and he has said he is advocate for pickle juice and he's tried it and says he likes it... He is now on your team and you have to worry about his pickle juicing! I have never tried pickle juice nor do I intend on it.. Perry has admitted drinking the pickle juice! You should back your teammate Timmy and join him! It would be a big circle jerk I'm sure that would be right up your alley! :-)

July 9.... By Swing for the fences....

"pickle nice makes sence to me." it's the salt in the pickle juice!". I am surprised more professionals don't try it.

Sounds like you supported swallowing "salty pickle juice" then.....what's changed?

Come on Rich it's all in fun!!!!!!!

It's not like everyone in your SF soft balls league wants salty pickle squirts

For cramps take more potassium. Bananas or pills.
Not sure if a salt intake would help but drinking more water to replenish hydration is beneficial.

Pickle juicing, steroid juicing---everybody is juicing now. Since I am always looking for a way to combat cramps, am I being 'gherked' around or is this something Dill-bert would say is a good thing?

Mule, pvery rarely am I just looking on the Internet.

Almost always, it's being done while eating, having a coffee break or sitting down recycling what I have eaten (if you know what I mean).

Smart phones and iPads have me connected the the web full time... A curse to some..... A ton of fun to others (ME)....

I read papers on the net.... Run all my work bids/emails on it...pay bills on it......and........ Get to mess around on message boards on it....

You gotta admit the salty pickle juice SF player stuff about your teammate was kinda funny.....

I heard about you guys/Barons agreeing to only swing the Demarinis and see the new bats are pickle color.....What were the odds of that???? I though that was the end of my Pickle fun....

Only to be followed by hearing some guys are saying the (pickle bats) are kinda "STIFF".....

The gifts keep COMMING

Since you guys seem enamored of pickle juice, you
may find this link to juice of interest. It is the latest juice stuff from the olympics.
The first juice is probably of no interest to SB
players, but the 2nd juice described in the article may be of particular benefit to tournament players who play many games in a short period of time. Enjoy:

Had a chance to try mike's (a teammate) pickle this afternoon in BP....

It was stiff right out of the wrapper...

With a few strokes it loosened up and was driving the balls deep.

It'd say Demarini has a good very good bat.

I will have to see how much stamina it has..... But it lasted fifty hard strokes.

And that's how..... You don't get booty hurt

I realize that this is a message board, but that is just too much information.
