Nov. 26, 2012 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | Replacement Surgery A friend of mine is considering shoulder replacement surgery. Any thoughts specific to this surgery? Age, type. |
Nov. 26, 2012 the wood Men's 65 1123 posts | I've been told the same thing but I 'Googled' 'alternatives to shoulder replacement' and came up with shoulder re-surfacing. As it turns out, my primary orthopedist does them. This is less invasive with a shorter rehab period. It leaves open the option of having a full replacement in the future. I'm not opposed to replacements as I've had both hips replaced and they now work fine. I did investigate hip re-surfacing but did not find it to be a soltution for me. I'd tell your friend to look into re-surfacing first. BW |

Nov. 30, 2012 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | I had mine done in Montrose, Colorado in November 09'. I played ball in Mesquite in February 10'. I have to work consistently with stretch bands but it is strong and I am well pleased with the work by Dr. Kelly Bynum in Montrose, Colorado. GOOD and Talented surgeon. I am 63 now. |
