Discussion: Team Ratings

SSUSA has always had the policy that New Teams start at the AAA level

This is not true.

SSUSA makes the rules based on what they want to do.

I just recently got a new 70's team together and mucj to my surprise, They called and informed me that we are a Majors team.

Discussion: Borders and snow birds

Jack Orewiler from Seatlle was able to get his comments about snow birds in the SSUSA Wionter addition

I wish the softball news would publish this but I don\'t think they will. I am only telling it like it is.

How would you like to have the borders of
North Dakota-South Dakota-Iowa and Wisconsin?
And then try to get enough players for a 70\'s team.
It is ridiculous.
One thing about it the people in the big Meccas on the East and west Coast don\'t have to worry because they get all of our snowbirds. They hav a surplus of players.

The bulk of all our teams are located in California -Florida Texas- Arizaona-Nevada

I have sent several emails complaining about the borders one has to work with.

Living in a small metropolitan area one has to catch on to a team where ever he canand border need to be crossed.

Recently Jack Orewiler from Seattle made a statement in the recent Softball news winter 2007 2008
His statement is the next sentence

\"Picking up players from neighboring states shoulf be plenty to recruit without going outside you region.\"

Jack\'s quote

I am not tasking a shot at him just making sure everybody kind of understands. I am no expert but the bordering states rule is not FAIR

If you live in Califiornia Texas- florida Arizona Nevada

You have a majority the teams and players.

Who cares about you guys out in the sticks.

Apparently Jack is not familiar with all the bordesr like I am .
The majority of all the teams are in the West and East Coast and Texas.

We in the Midwest are blessed with border like North and South Dakota and at the top Canada. Some states have
6 bodering states read this six states bordering them.
In Minnesota we have Iowa and Wisconsin also.

Wisconsin as you nmay well know also borders Michigan and Illinois this takes care of 99% of any players we could hope to get from Wiosconsin

This leaves me to recruit in North and Sout Dakota and yes we can sometimes get some players from Iowa.

If there is anybody that wants to trade North and South Dakota let me know.

I have brought this to the attentiopn of the SPA and SSUSA by sending Ridge Hooks and Terry Hennessy email. It appears the phones and all email have gone down.

It is impossible to find enough 70\'s player to form a traveling team and be competitive and get players that are willing to travel without going outsde our borders.

I am talking about Southern Minnesota and Northern Minnesota the rest of the state not the Metro area Mpls and St Paul Minnesota

I am sure nobody is listening

Discussion: Doctored Bat in Seattle?

You can bet your last penny that the team was aware of this bat. The punishment is very light .
Not the first violation by this individual.
I am aware of who the player is and know him.
It should be dealt with more severly.
The answer he gave for having the bat
"Got it from some guy in the NAVY"
That is an insult to our people in the Navy.

Discussion: Doctored Bat in Seattle?

Yes, the bat was confiscated and the player is out for this year and next,

DAHHHHH nobody else on the team knew about it !!
Yet most of them were using it
Homer Simpson knew aout the illegal bat.

Not the first violation for this player

My feeling the penalty was not severe enough.

The team needs to be penalized.

That will fix the problems when the coach or manager and the team are penalized.
