Discussion: Driver's License Determines Residence

This is for supporters of this idea: if you feel that all Senior Softball would be a better run organization with less controversy & less chances of rigged rosters: add your first name to this post. Do you feel that a Driver's Licence should determine a player's place of residence & that it should be presented with the association's card (if rewuired) at all tourneys?

Dale: I do not feel the same way; we use the highest batting average & have did that since 2000, seems to work alright. The All Tourney Trophies go towards your Softball Hall of Fame Nomination. I love the trophies, when I am having a hard day, I go down & take a look & say, well that day I was awesome.

Discussion: Residency requirements?

I have questioned the ISA about the rules of residency; the eeeeeeeback was where a player lives most of the year; what if that was a Federal Prison; this interpretation is very vague. Your DL should determine your state of residence. My family has property in NY, Ca, Montana, Ga, Fla; can I go play with you Kelly under this ruling???

Your Driver's License should determine your resident. If you go to another state, get another license. Snowbird rule is total garbage & all Fair Senior Players should hit the senior summit hard at the next meeting that the roster address should match the Driver's License.

Bruce; Boombahs!!! 2 reasons we probably will not go with them; I am go fat that the stripes would be too wide causing massive optic damage to those that gaze too long; # 2, a guy on our team is so skinny that they could only make one stripe for his boombahs. By the way met the Pro: great guy from Kidz4Ever.

Discussion: Great To Live in America

I WOKE UP THIS MORNING

I woke up this morning- before the luminous sun shone thru
The stars blinked their radiance- against a backdrop of navy blue
The air was filled with moisture- the wonderful feel of spring
My heart embellished the joy of life- that living in America brings

The sun tipped the horizon- with a lateral display of light
The stars began to fade away- & slip out with the night
No smoke ascended into the sky- from boisterous mortar fire
No squads of soldiers roamed the streets- no one was paid for hire

My neighbors did not peer thru doors- with guns & ammo in hand
Wow! I am so grateful- to live in this free land
The water gave a calming elixir- as the soap drained from my skin
I did not have to carry it for miles- to make my day begin

There was a various array of colors- from my plethora style of clothes
As I brushed my teeth & combed my hair- the cologne it soothed my nose
The calmative sounds of the radio- spoke peace into my head
No potholes in the street from rocket fire- as down the road I sped

I looked at police & firemen- as they came passing by
They'd help me in a moment's notice- if I let out a cry
You see we live in America- & that we should rejoice
You can speak, act or do your thing- whether good or of bad voice

Maybe for a second- we should think about other lands
Where people run & hide all day- from wicked contemptuous bands
That minute mental vacation- may give us over sight
About the freedom that we cherish- where everyone has their rights

So the next time you start to criticize- America home of the free
Just think of all those nations that have no liberty

Wanted to bring this back to the forefront: due to this post many players have had their colonscopy & the stress test. Now some of the wives are following suit. This is very important to all of us since we are a part of the Senior Softball Family.

Discussion: Armed Forced: Did you Serve?

Thanks to all responses: due to this post, I have found some lost friends that I served with in Can Tho, VN; Cobrapilot: you & I were on the same field. Cannot wait to work the next Darkhorse reunion into my schedule. Even though VN was not accepted by most Americans; I still would not take anything for that experience.

Tater here again: I know somebody's got to know where some of the Original Miken Velocit-e's are located. They fit my swing & I am in need of a backup. 29 or 30 ounce. Thanks for your help.

Discussion: Major Plus roster requirements

In 04', JAH Masters had to turn in a National Frozen roster by June 15th; I sent this to SPA & ISSA. I went to 3-4 Nationals with 10-11 players because I could not add any after the deadline. I was excused @ the SPA because I got down to too few players & the rule allowed me to pick up some more. This was difficult to place a competitive team on the field w/only 10-11 players.

I swing the Original Miken Velocit-e; it seems to suit me. I have already cracked 4 this year & I need some replacements. If you have a 29 or 30 oz that you would like to sell, contact me @ Allworld84@aol.com. Will pay fair market value.

Thanks Tater

Discussion: who won in the isa/sswc in florida?

I agree w/BruceinGa; Al Estes is a tough team; very classy & competitive. The fields, umps, balls & everything was awesome. Would like to give a high five to Bruce & Joe Parton of Miken/Old South for their All Tourney Honors; they both were awesome.

Optic Yellow Ball: I thought it was horrible when I saw it; but it is the better seeing ball; especially at night time or when the balls get dirty. I will have to stop playing in my city league next year, because they will not adjust the lights & I am wasting my time; I constantly lose the pitch about 4' from the plate. You have my vote.

CobraPilot: I was also in the Darkhorse division: Look me up if you come to the ASA,NSA,SPA, ISA, SSWC. Miken/Old South out of Ga. # 50 (you will recognize me; big & slow as molasses on a cold winter day).
Remember Capt. Chamberlain; Major Valouche; Sgt. Wright; Inspector Hougart???

Discussion: Courtesy Runner rule revisited. I would like comments!

Yo Don/Coach: Just this weekend, we went to Pensacola: I had both hamstrings strained; I could barely bend over; I could swing OK, but getting to first was a chore; the CR was awesome. Another or our players had just recovered from having a stint installed & other heart related conditions. He was just coming to be an inspiration; our coaches Don/Bruce in Ga put him in the game. He was ALL smiles. He would run to 1B; sometimes would go to 2B just to get back the feel; then would ask for a CR. The look on his face being able to comeback & play after his problems was incredible.
