Clean up, What do you look like?
Where do you live?
Are you male or female?
What diretion does your front door face?
How large is your driveway?
How many children do you have?
What team do you play for?

You are not identified on your profile so do you really exist.

Have you paid for a bat from Steve and not received it?
When his bat is done and for sale and your order has been delayed, then maybe your previous post would have some merit.
cal50 is just stating facts as he knows them. Don't kill the messenger. He is known by many on this board, Are you?

Swing,
I could not agree more. Tell Joe Rinaldi I said hello next time you see him. He has amazed me many times while taking B.P. with him. Tell him Mike Burbank is doing very well and said hello as too. Ollie.

HJ, 3 or 4 years ago the company now known as GSC(God's sports Company) did not exist. You are referring to GSC, Gates Sports Company. Two different owners, Steve Mckinly for God's Sports , and Bill Gately for GSC (Gates).
Steve has never offered his bat for sale yet. He is doing it the right way, attempting to manufacture a product that will perform and offer a warranty. This has shown to be an arduous task. When the formula is right(prototypes reflect the quality required)they will be offered to the general public. This of course is contingent upon receiving a Senior affilliation stamp of approval. So by all means keep your nickel until you can exchange it towards a bat,if you so choose.
And as far as using the word "God" in a name of a company, just think of it as an acronym for "Got one done" and liken it to the first bat off the assembly line. Ollie.

Swing,I can appreciate and understand your not wanting to "Rat them out" that is a personal choice. I don't look at it as "not my job" I get paid for a job. This is my hobby. I just have an issue with grown men who feel so inferior in their abilities or want to be a big fish in a little pond, that cheating to gain some advantage in a game of softball is required. Look me up at a tournament this year, then maybe you can give me some names. Thanks swing, your opinion on this board has merit to me. Ollie.

In reading all of these posts I arrive at the conclusion that no one actually knows of anyone who is using or has used a Senior bat that SSUSA would ban. I base this on the fact not even one persons name being mentioned as an offender. Maybe people don't want to falsly accuse on this message board and suffer the consequences or maybe it is truely only speculation.

Can you imagine someone being found guilty in our society without any evidence? Where is the evidence of altered bats, or more importantly, how do you find evidence of an altered bat. I for one will not point fingers and speculate someone is doing something illegal unless It can be proved. For all who claim they have seen many illegal bats being used, and even teammates claiming they are using them, why not put a name to an offender.

We don't need cheaters in our game. I have no problem approaching someone (If I know their name and who they play for), and asking them about illegal bat issues. Every post given has been very much appreciated. Ollie Oliverson #10 GSC

Discussion: Talk regarding illegal bats

(This post is intended towards Senior softball only)
How big of a problem are illegal bats in our game? I
read many posts on here that infer some think they are in our
game today. It has been suggested before that if a team knows
or suspects someone of using an illegal bat(shaved, juiced, tampered with)
whatever you want to speculate it being, then why would your
pitcher even pitch to the suspected offender? If the person
never got a chance to swing in a game, then I would venture to
guess voluntary compliance by the culprit would soon follow.

We should be policing ourselves and this great game. Don't leave it up to the various associations because it won't happen. If players are willing to complain
about the issue, then at least stand up for what you believe to
be true. Strength in numbers will work. If a player is reasonably
suspected, and there are articulable facts, let it be known to as many
teams as possible. If it is just sour grapes because someone can hit the ball harder
than you can and you have no speculative proof then that is another issue, one
that the accuser can only deal with. I have never seen a Cheater bat in
Senior Softball,I don't even know what one would look like or act like.
Please educate me and let me know if this is an issue or is it a
Urban Legend. Thanks for your time. #10,Ollie Oliverson Team GSC (Gods Sports Company)

DaddysPestControl,I assume you have played against this team while playing in the 40 age group. If that is the case, all 40's teams hit the ball that way, they are still young studs. I doubt the bat matters. Playing against Steele Sports in the 80's I used to say the same thing "That ball seems to never come down" It was not because of the bat they were swinging then either. Just an observation.

50 Major+ in no particular order:
Demolition
Arizona Elite

GSC = Gods Sports Company
I think these teams will be elite teams.
Now if I have left someone off, let the games begin. Hope
everyone has a great successful year.

Discussion: Combat Ambush updates

After 900 + swings on my 27 oz end load Ambush, I have experienced nothing better than results from any Usssa bat I have used. This bat is not going to somehow magically reach a desired number of swings and Suddenly become "hot". I have used Miken Ultra two right out of the wrapper and had much better success hitting the ball harder and further. This bat does not impress me at all. This is my opinion and apparently several others from what I have read on the topic. I hope when I go to the worlds in Vegas, opposing teams will be using the Ambush. This bat is durable and will be my warm up/batting practice bat. However game day will continue too be Miken. Olie #4, Team Demolition

Discussion: Ambush Review

Second update on Ambush: Over 350 hits on my Ambush with no improvement. Very stiff feel with no noticible pop to it. I am comparing swing for swing with my Miken 27 end load. 30-50 more feet with the miken. At this point the Ambush is no different than any other middle of the road senior bat I have tried. To be continued! Olie, Team Demolition 50 Major Plus.

HJ, The Ambush is a 27 oz end load. The Miken Ultra two is the same. I hope this is what you need for my post to be helpful.

Discussion: Ambush Review

I recently purchased the Ambush. I have followed the break in recommended by Alan Tanner. So far the bat has not proved to be anything different than what I have experienced with a Centinarian. I swing a Miken ultra 2 end load normally. So far hitting off a tee, the Miken and the Ambush give me two totally different results. I have around 220 swings on the Ambush and about 350 on the Miken. The Miken out distances and handles miss hits markedly better than the Ambush.I will continue to compare the two side by side with the hope that I notice the significant difference in distance and sweet spot that so many others have experienced. There are no cracks ,fractures or any noticible marks on the Ambush at this point. Olie, Team Demolition

Discussion: Miken's defective bats

Defective bats? A defect is when something is wrong with a product regarding it original design. I believe the miken bats are designed to be the hottest bat available to date, thusly they are going to be subject to early breakage. This is not a defect but a planned design. I swing the darn thing because it is the best performing bat on the market. All of the other bats are very close in performance. Until a better bat comes out, I for one will continue to swing what gives me the best performance. Just my opinion. P.S. A better bat is looming on the horizon!!!!

Discussion: How To Improve One's Arm?

hombre, Don't be fooled by people who have no proven knowledge and medical training regarding how to improve your throwing arm. Basic Anatomy and physiology/kinesiology need to be employed. Don't take the word of some "I have a friend who said" stuff. These people have all the best intentions in mind but are underqualified to give out pertinent information. I have been training people with sports specific injuries for over 30 years, mostly the 30-75 year old range.Stick8 is right in saying "Either you have a good arm and can run fast or you don't". but realize you are trying to overcome something that has taken away your normal abilities because of injury. Resistance training will strengthen the areas that will give you the best chance at full recovery, not only for your throwing, but endurance and strength. "Whatever you do, do something and be consistant".

Discussion: How To Improve One's Arm?

When looking at improving an area of the body that has had injury or muscle degeneration, it is best to focus on strengthening the muscle and tendons/ligaments first. Remember, the weakest link is the one that is going to give you problems(i.e. tendons attach muscle to bone, Ligaments attach bone to bone). Basic exercise for the shoulder girth are advised with very close attention to range of motion. Resistance bands are good for allowing you to closely mimic the natural movement of throwing without an increased risk of injury. Specific exercises for stregthening the rotator are recommended. Visit any web site for "Rotator rehabilitation" for examples. Resistance training with weights will help with strengthening the tendons and ligaments. Shoulder training at your age(not meant to be demeaning)should be done with light weight and progress in minimal poundages. Once the shoulder area is strengthened sufficiently, begin the regular throwing regimene. Good luck my friend.

Discussion: testing of bats

My opinion is bat testing costs money and takes time. Could this be why it has not been implemented? I would welcome a testing process before every game, or to have the bats supplied by the association being represented. If I sell a hot product that makes the ball fly farther than others, then I may corner the market. If I sell an inferior product, no one will want to by it. Maybe the bat companies have this in mind when manufactiring their products? (just being sarcastic). Kim R. Oliverson (Olie) Team Demolition, Ca

Discussion: idea to stop cheating on bats

I don't think exchanging bats is a good idea. Who is going to pay for the bat supplied by team "A" when someone off team "B" breaks it or vice versa? Now if SSUSA or whatever sanction wants to supply the bats then it might work. The other problem is some players like their bats to have tapered handle knobs, tape, stickum etc. This would only slow the game down or create undo complaining. Look what happened when a pitcher recently pushed the envelope on illegal deception in delivery of pitches. I don't believe bat cheating in senior softball is a huge issue. I have only heard a moducum of people playing the game, suspect it even happens. It does not merit any special rules in my opinion.
As far as a softer ball, if you get hit with a ball no matter what the applied perception of hardness is (current ball standards), you are not going to experience any less pain from one verses the other, it is going to smart one way or the other.
