My first thought is why does it matter and who really cares? Seems like a sore spot for many to pick on. Let it be and let him live his life. It doesn't hurt anyone.

Discussion: News flash,NEW SENIOR LEAGUE to start

Seeing we are all getting older, maybe we could use our laser finders to hit with and then our gps to find the bases. I'm in.

James, I am also a U2 guy. Am swinging a psycho right now. I am going to try and play in the 5/5/5 this year. Rumor has it most of our team will be in Laughlin and then Pheonix during that time. You guys need an old timer for backup? lol. Hope your holidays were good also.

JamesLG, as much as you may want a new bat I would have to say that yours worked perectly fine last year. I personaly would not like to watch anymore of your hits go to or over the fence. I think maybe you need to see what you can do with a wood bat again. LOL..

Been playing senior softball since 1998 and do not remember ever being polled about anything. We seem to just get told this is it and if you don't like it then either accept it or leave. Not that I find the rules are all that bad. Actually like most of them. I think that most have had thought put into them and a good reason for implemation.

Hey Shane, come and play doubles raquetball with us. You'll get contact and hit with the ball also. Makes you learn to be quicker.

Discussion: Observation

Gary19. Just from my experience the response from the younger crowd is that they are amazed and and awed at how well we do for our age. Don't seem to recall any comments as to the rules. I constantly run into "kids" who would like to play "our" game. Especially the 40 y.o's that know soon it will happen.

I think it is a good idea. I would suggest though that it be kept to a yes, no forum. If input was needed as to more questions then that could be directed through the SSUSA email. Otherwise we would have a mile long thread with a lot of overstated opinions. JMO.

My coplayer and manager uses one. he loves it. 26oz. It is strictly a game day bat according to him. Serious hitters could shorten the life with bp.

Discussion: Age Brackets & Divisions

I agree with Duke. As soon I reached 60 the play changed and now that I'm 65 it has really changed. 57 to 63 might work but the 64 to 70 is a big differential. Not sure what the answer is though. Maybe an in team review of talent with a waiver to go up in age bracket. I relize that it would pretty much be on the honor system, but as adults I think it could happen. It does seem like with the bracketing we have now alot of teams are locked in to high because of past performance and the review does not happen soon enough. Tends to make for some long hard seasons.

It is enough that SSUSA has stated and did what they must, but for us to comment anymore is fanning the flames also. Let it lie.
