Hey-Boston-strange tourney for us-we went 3-3, but won the important games. We just got demolished by Red Wing-an AA team-must have been 28-9 or something like that. St. Louis Heat, Renegades, Minnesota Pride, and Glory Daze-we had a lot of fun playing different teams in a different region. Thanks for the hospitality!!! PS Glory Daze-we would love to play you again-those were 2 fun games and we want a chance to redeem ourselves. :-)

Congrats on another tourney win. You guys are making a habit out of winning tourneys. I had a great time at Senior Olympics. Maybe, we can get that team together for the Nationals in Houston in mid June. I think we would have a good chance at winning. Playing in the Whole Enchilada this weekend. I love playing against the youngsters just not at 1-2-3am etc. I try not to play the early games but the kids are usually too drunk and I am needed. I will also be at Worlds w/ a 50 AA team out of EP Old School. If I get a chance I'll come watch you old farts play. BTW come down to Cruces on the 9th we arranged a doubleheader against the Bulls to prep for Worlds.

Boston-I won't be there-that darn hip flexor reared its ugly head big time in Shawnee-need total rest until Phoenix to even have a chance of playing near full strength. I sure didn't know one of these could hold on for 4 months.Hope to see you soon.

mad dog-this is in the groin area centered near my left hip, but shoots all tha way across the groin. Very painful, unable to run much or play defense. It started before Pinetop, I pulled it and my back going over backward against Rogue in Prescott, and repulled it again in Shawnee. Phooey!! Swinging doesn't bother it too much.
Yours sounds like the upper part of the Quad muscle. Wish you were here-I have a great chiropractor who could tell you what it is and how to heal it. Good Luck!

mad dog, i have the same thing. The last tourney i played, it took about 1 1/2 weeks to loosen up and walk right. If i sat for a while and walk it wood really hurt. If you find out what it is let me know. Haven't played for 6 weeks and all feels fine. Doesn't bother me playing golf or drinking beer. Lazer Larry

Guy's i talked to a PT today and she said it's called something like ideosoris or something like that. It's a muscle that tightens when you sit in a office job or in a car or truck a lot. There's a exercise that you can do to strech it out. Lie on your stomach, legs flat and push straight up with your arms full extension and try to relax your butt muscles, hold that for 10 sec's 5 times. This should help to loosen it up. Holp this helps. I'm not a PT. But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Lazer Larry

Webbie when doing that exercise that Lazer described you may also move your hip a bit to the left or right depending on which side hurts. It will help concentrate on that area better. You may also try laying on your back. Using one leg at a time, lock your hands behind your knee. Bend the knee and pull toward your chest. I have others I can show you in Phoenix. I stayed at the same Holiday Inn as Lazer

The muscle the Physical therapist was referring to is the Illiopsoas. This muscle works in conjunction with the hip flexors and extendors. There are very specific stretches to target this area. Go to any web site that talkes about hip stretches and you will find a number of these. Pick ones that are simple. Remember stretching this muscle is not going to do any good unless you are consistent with your efforts. The problems you are experiencing may take several weeks before you notice a distinct improvement. Good luck. Ollie (Fangrabbers #48)

Webbie: My first Doctor told me I had the same thing as you (he prescribed rest and stretching). After 6 months of no progress, I went to a Orthopedic Dr. who nailed it - hip replacement. And now 1 year later, everything's back to normal, and no more pain.

Not saying that's what you have, but might be worth checking out if things don't improve...

6 MONTHS TO 1 YEAR?????? We have Phoenix, Las Vegas, Phoenix again, TOC, St. George, Reno, etc.---I can't stop now. Guys-thanks for all the tips. I have been stretching some and bicycling light 20-30 mile rides to loosen it up and it is helping-just don't know if fast enough.
Maybe if I had stayed at a Holiday Express I would have been smart enough to sit out Shawnee. :-)

LazerLarry and Olie04-right on the money, it is the illiopsoas. My chiropractor is also a sports doctor and gave me an injection with a 6 inch long needle. Well, it looked that long. There is not much pain now, so we will give it a run this weekend. My thanks go to everyone that responded. I am going to get on the rewards program for Holiday Inn Express so I know everything from now on. :-)
