April 2 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | Emergency trip To Florida, Need Recommendations My wife is flying to Florida next week as her sister has been diagnosed with stage II cancer and must have surgery and follow up procedures. We live in Colorado. She will fly to/from Tampa. She will be there for a month and is in need of renting a car so she will not have to be dependent on others for her transportation needs. If any of you out there has ideas or contacts that you might share with us to perhaps secure a reasonable rental rate, we would be grateful for your response. Thanks so much and good luck this year with your season ahead. Ed & Robin Andrews Reebok Independent Rep (970) 729-3145 or (970) 209-8888 |

April 3 surf88 Men's 65 1000 posts | r Thanks for responses. Accomodations not a problem. Looking to rent a vehicle for a month or longer. Ed |
April 3 gott2play Men's 60 212 posts | r Ed, If you or your wife have a AARP card, try aarp.com. I got a rental a few years back for $14 per day. Also, most rental car companies will give price breaks for long term. Try AAA too...maybe even call, tell them the situation and maybe they'll be able to help out. I would even call the rental companies. Tony Baltazar |
April 3 TexasTransplant Men's 70 516 posts | r You might try to do something directly with the airlines that provide service from your area in Colorado to Tampa. Some used to offer compassionate fares for people with family emergencies. It's been a number of years since I checked on this. My recollection is that they were sort of like getting the 21-day advance fare, even though you were purchasing at the last minute. |
April 4 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | r TT, i did that a couple years back and got a good rate for my car(going up to mass).ed try that with priceline and bid, like i said do a price check first with the travel companies and then start at just over half their prices with priceline bid. |
