SENIOR REEBOK
I would like some feedback on the senior melee endload bat from guys that have used it.How does it compare to the ultra?

Love my 28EL. Hit 6 doubles with it in Mesquite. Others told me they loved theirs.

Big Cat,
I swung a 26 end load in my last game in Mesquite. All I can say based on 4 AB's is nasty!! Ball just jumped off the bat. I had swung a Miken U2 for 4 plus years, and now I'm trying others to see if they are more durable. I'll see how the Melee does in next weekend in Laughlin
I also carry an original Combat, an MM Combat, a Launch 510 and a Reebok Melee...all great bats as well.

Bought a 26el and a 27el this is the hottest bat out there hits hot out of the wrapper. That said my 26el only lasted 34 days less than 150 swings. The 27 is still going with about 175 to 200 on it now judgeing from the cracks on it don't think it will make 300 hope I am wrong. Really do like the bat but doesn't seem to last don't swing on less than 65 degree days.

I know that several of the guys from the After Party 50's and the Southwest Legends (both from Las Vegas) swing the Melee and love it. We had one of the original castings and it broke really quick but we have been told, and take this for what it is worth, the newest version of this bat is supposed to have been reworked to add some durability to it. We used ours in Mesquite and didn't break any so, so far, so good.

I've hit quite a few bats and my favorite for the last two years has been the senior combat. This spring I started off with a new Melee and a new blue senior combat. The melee was the hands down winner out of the wrapper. I thgought that the combat would catch up when it got broken in. However, the combat has about 300 hits and the melee is still hotter.

For me, The melee is as hot as any bat that I've hit. I just don't know about the durability. I'll have to see how long it lasts.

Your bat hits great and that’s all that counts. Forget the fact that most of the money you spent on that bat goes to support China and other companies outside of the USA. Forget the fact that Miken makes their bats here in the USA and supports local business and American families. This buy American crap is overrated and this is a global economy, we must do our part to help the cause.
The tide has turned and it is time to 'buy USA' again.

Is it possible to limit comment feedback to the bat question.

My endload is every bit as performance positive as the ultra. Of course, not evryone likes an endload bat.

Now why would you want to do this?
Potential buyers and other players who have used any bat need and have the right to know what is going on with them...

My response was because it seems that politics fills this message board like cancer. A simple question was asked about a bat and politics entered the door. Why?

Ed,
Poly sci isn't the only off subject that makes it to the threads nascar, TV, movies, you name it, it probably has appeared.
I have done a few as well.
One could argue and probably pretty well, that it does enter the arena with much of what goes on.
That included the pro\con issues of bats.
Good luck this coming week end.

surf88 while you're telling others what an how to converse. Why don't you go to a Reebok site to promote your Reebok bat?

You say that you love your End load. Why would you say anything else when you the senior Rep for Reebok.A little bias I'd say.

Used my new Reebok 26EL this past weekend and it was the talk of the tourney.I used the Ultra in my first year and the Combat the next two. These bats are all excellent choices. The China comment has me feeling bad.

titanhd; Truth is truth. The Melee was impressive from the first day I used it. I'm not a homerun hitter but the Melee is a bat that will get the job done. The proof is in the pudding. In Mesquite, I saw power hitters using the Melee, hit balls over a 360ft baseball fence. I'm swinging a 28 endload. The ball jumps off the bat quick and it feels good.
Yes, I'm a rep, but I also speak truth. People who know me, know that. My opinion is that most of the name brand bats are good quality products and do a good job. I say that if you have not tried a Melee, check it out. That's it. Enjoy the game and have safe year ahead.

Hit the first time with my 28el reebok. Hot right out the wrapper. Hits like the old ultra2. Don't plan on using it in the round robin. Just the games that count.

I have a 29oz end load senior melee and i wanted to know if anyone else has had the same problem.Ive only swung it a dozen or so times but it just doesnt seem to have any pop whatsoever and almost feels like its breaking in my hands when i swing. Ive checked and there arent any cracks or anything in it.

Big Cat, lay the bat on something flat and step on the handle, turn it around and do the same to the other side.

To venture a guess, I'd say break it.
Of course it depends on how hard you step on it.

help me out, and i welcome any and all opinions/comments.

early on, one of the biggest selling points of the reebok bat vis a vis the ultra was the improved durabilty - i.e., everyone was tired of having to baby their ultra through a few games and/or tourneys. It now seems as if reebok buyers are now being told to "do this and dont do that" so that it will "last" - a familiar tune directed at the ultra.

first off, let me say that i do appreciate reebok's efforts in allowing us another choice in the marketplace, and that, from a performance perspective, i have wintessed that they have delivered.

i am milking the last days out of my current bats. When they go, can i buy a reebok and feel comfortable that it will last the rest of the year or should i put it in the same category as the ultra when it comes to durability.

There are exceptions to every rule, but i think it is universally understood that combats last longer than ultras - where does the reebok fall in the spectrum?

thanks in advance.

udaplayer: How about both! Before you decide you may want to check out the new solid core demo bat "Mac" will have in Las Vegas. He's on Demolition 50M+ Its not a Reebok but this one is Made in the good ol USA by skilled (employed) american workers. He's really high on this bat. Vegas will be a good test for his and other's bat speed. Good Luck with your choice. When in doubt "Buy USA" Sorry mad dog I just can't help myself :O)

The latest run of Reebok bats are more durable. My bat was a little bit of a clunker out of the wrapper but it now performs as good as any other senior bat.

UDA: Just returned from Laughlin. I let a few players try my Melee 28EL. It now has over 600 hits by some big guys and it is still strong. I'm a small guy, 160 lbs. I hit 3 triples, 5 doubles with it. No broken Melee's in Laughlin or in Mesquite. My thoughts, go and try all the ones you think you might like, then pick the one that feels good and works best for you. I'm hooked on the Melee. Ed

marv i know, but with all this buy usa only, might wanna check your house for what you have, most all electronics are now made overseas, half our cars use foreign made products,i doubt there is anything we use in our lives that is not foreign made or have some parts in it that are.how about starting there with this buy American only preaching......

mad dog: My beef is with China on the softball bats. I never said anything about buy America only. I have lots of things in my home from many countries. The comment "when in doubt buy America" was about bats. (ref subject line above) How you determined it was for everything is really a stretch. But thanks for letting me clear this up for you. Have a good week :O)

Let the bat be in production for a while before we purchased. Just purchased a Reebok Senior 27oz EL for the team.

15 at bats, 6 different players, 9 home runs....out of the wrapper.

That was our experience this last weekend.

Lots of good bats out there. Heard good things about the USA bat coming soon. The Reebok Melee performed very well in Laughlin. One of our players, John G., (about 155/160 lbs.) hit one out with a 27 balanced Melee. If I can help, let me know. ed

I dont know maybe i havent given my melee enough time to break in yet,it just seemed like it was going to break everytime i hit with it but that could be because the walls are so thin .The vibrations were really bad when i made contact. Im not going to give up on it yet because it does feel good as far as just swinging and handling it.
