| Jan. 13, 2013 taits Men's 65 3999 posts | More likely in about a week, to see how many withdraw after seeing if they need to play teams out of their own age and or ratings. But you can count on a few of that, (ie playing out of age \ratings) |
| Jan. 15, 2013 gott2play Men's 55 105 posts | Participating teams list is out. Looks like four (4) 55 Major teams, Addison Park (Deerfield Beach, FL) Fat Nancy's/ Gubiotti (Syracuse, NY) Gonzalez Insulation (Victoria, TX) Kinnco Services (Martinsville, IN) |
| Jan. 15, 2013 grumpy55 Men's 60 103 posts | Another sad turn out. When will the association learn that this is not a good time for this one. There is couple things wrong with this one and Taits mentioned one of them above. If you get bumped during the year, you should be playing at the bumped up rating. It is a disadvantage to the teams that did not get bumped. Just my opinion which probably isn't right anyway. |
| Jan. 15, 2013 titanhd Men's 50 262 posts | goot2play Gonzalez Insulation is AAA |
| Jan. 15, 2013 gott2play Men's 55 105 posts | Lonell, My bad. It looks like both Fat Nancy's/Gubiotti and Gonzalez Insulation got bumped late in 2012, with both teams most likely qualifying at the AAA level. The 55 AAA and 55 Majors will most likely be combined for the seeding games and then break off for the double elimination. Tony |
| Jan. 15, 2013 the answer Men's 55 84 posts | anyone looking for an outfielder for the feb toc in either 50 or 55 or both..good hitter and fielder for both average and power..decent arm |
| Jan. 16, 2013 bullet Men's 55 125 posts | Here is a idea,BUT it will never work, since each organization wants there money. There is a SSUSA TOC, there is a ISSA/ISF TOC.An i'm sure eventtually there will be a SPA TOC. Why don't they combine them all into one so there ie ONE big TOC where just maybe alot of teams would show up too. So that might mean these groups need to have ONE team rating system,so you get bumped in one, you get bumped in them all. Just a idea,Things can be made real simple. |

| Feb. 18, 2013 DEECEE Men's 50 9 posts | Thanks SFTF, appreciate it. never been on this so kinda have an idea who you are but not quite sure. text me to confirm please. As far as the TOC, I had been invited 3 years prior but glad I went this year with the Dawgs. In the past some my teams hobbled into Phoenix usually on the brink of dismantlement. To still be together after a long year and pull together for a season finale is true testament to our program and the leaders of both teams 55 included. Our coach Mike Schaefer is the real reason why we were able to accomplish such a feat. All while knowing the entire 2013 50AA team will not have any resemblance from 2012, he still kept us together for the long haul. The TOC experience is one to experience...only if you are with the right group of guys.I was fortunate to be associated with the best group of guys I have ever played with. |

| March 4, 2013 1billyd 24 posts | Regarding TOC qualification, we have a situation stemming from the ISA Winter Nationals just completed in Auburndale this past weekend. In our 70’s AAA bracket we had a 75’s AAA team competing with us because there was no other 75’s team. These guys played awesome, they made it to the championship game and won four out of six games. Now these guys paid their money for a chance at qualifying for the TOC. However, as I understand it, they will not receive an automatic qualifier in their division like any number of teams have in the past. It seems to me that based on their level of play that they should not be penalized because another team in their age division dropped out. Am I wrong here? |
| March 6, 2013 Player 21 posts | 1billyd: Nothing new here. Last year in a SSUSA tourney, there was only one 70's major + team and one 65 major team in attendance. They had to play "even-up" with only the winner going to the TOC (the 65 major team). IMHO, both teams should have been invited. |
| March 7, 2013 1billyd 24 posts | Yeah, same thing happened to my team in the Spring Nationals last year, we lost. But I think this 75’s team earned a shot because they competed and won a number of games in a higher bracket. Just think there should be some consistency because I have seen where single entry teams in some tourneys have received an invite. One other point. It seems to me that SSUSA would try to legitimately qualify as many teams as possible for the TOC because not nearly enough teams attend to fill up the brackets. |
