If our children were acting this way, we'd tell them to grow up! Obviously that don't apply to us manly ball players.

I still prefer to watch Tebow after a touchdown then watch these players dance the jig or act like total idiots in the endzone.

Let's leave him alone. He didn't create all this hoopla. He's been doing this for quite some time. Now folks have a dislike for him because everyone(media) has played this to death and they need to fill some air time.

What I meant was, as these message boards materialized on the internet they have been more of they said/he said forum. If anyone has visited a message that does not have the same type of responses or personalities this one has, I would be surprised. I was not indicating it could not be used for those things.

Hey folks, it's a message board, not an information board or a let's be friends board. Take no offense, but we all have choices here. Either read a thread, respond or don't respond. I think way to much is being made of who says this or who says that. JMO

It sound like some folks are more careful with their bats than they are their automobiles! I just think it borders on the ridiculous we start worrying about temps, balls, foil sleeves or warmers for your bats.

DC Pete,
"why were they ever created in the 1st place?
Never used one, but it sounds like they don't serve any useful purpose???"

Are you asking about the bats or balls? Your statement could be used for either.

Discussion: For the guys who still play with the kids.......

"I am Commissioner of an 18 team league and the most prevalent issue I deal with- year in and year out- is plays at home plate. We have a no contact rule- never works. Catcher blocks plate- runner bowls him over. Happens at least once a week. Also- runner doesn't have as much incentive at 2nd or 3rd- a run is not being scored. Home- guys get "juiced" and go for it! Double home plate settles that."

Boppo, if this happens once a week in your league, you've got a bunch of idiots playing. No collision at the bases has been around 25-30 years. What time capsule have these guys been in? If the runners feel there is no more incentive to be safe at any of the other bases besides home plate, they are just not ballplayers! You can't touch home unless you get to the other bags first. As commissioner, you've got your hands full. Good Luck! You need it!

Neck, I don't hunt. I feel hunting will become a sport until the animals can shoot as well.

Gary, as a pitcher most of my life, I respectfully will disagree with you on the pitchers being the only players at risk.

Gary, all the equipment you mentioned above does not put the opposition at risk, with the exception of the hunted! I don't want to get into what my thoughts on this subject is because it has been beaten to death. But your analogy just insulted our intelligence!

You both need to lighten up just a little here! This is like the snowball running down hill. So much being taken out of context it's starting to border on the ridiculous.

Webbie, you are correct in your assessment of my statement. But would it not make sense for any association to try and create their tourney schedule to accommodate all the areas? Work them to increase the numbers. Instead of just having tourneys to say we have them? Limit the tourneys by regions and it will increase numbers at each one. JMO

How many folks out there would be interested in a tourney in the Michigan area? If so what age/divisions do you play?

That might be the case, but I would rather spend less money traveling in this area and playing 4-5 teams than spending the extra cash with more travel and play the same numbers.

We are in need of more tourneys in the Ohio, Michigan area's. Do any of the other associations have any worth going to?
