If our countries best players have home run limits, The USA team, 10 and then outs why should we be any different? What makes us think we are any better?

Joe,

You are right they did last year. That is why I don't understand all the debate. Each organization have their own rules so all you have to do is pick and choose which ones you will or will not attend. Should be end of discussion.

LP,

You must have the year wrong because according to Joe that only happens when home runs are outs and they were still singles in 2008. lol

I'm just happy to hear a lot of the guys are still playing. Glad to hear from some of guys I have played against and would like to meet next time we are at the same tourney. This truly is what softball is about.

Mr. Manassas,

I played a 35 and over with Doc but not any 40. played 40 with Legends and a team out of Columbus, In.

You are who we were fortunate to beat in Meridan, Ms.

birdie,

Maroadis won the 45 and over 4 or 5 years in a row. I played with Winchells and we won it the year or two before they started their streak. We had some barn burners with them. I also played against them a lot in the younger days.

I believe their coach was a big guy we called Maroadi Joe.

Discussion: picher's safety equipment

I would say if there was a chance you might pitch bring your pitching gear and suite up when the time comes or sign the waiver before the game if it is a possibility that you may pitch. I would not want anyone buying the equipment for me that may prevent a serious injury. I guess that means I trust myself more others. :)

Discussion: No change in the balls for SSUSA for 2010

I only ask that don't dump on all the guys that play Major Plus as we are not all alike. Just because I have an opinion on certain items doesn't mean everybody has the same opinion and the same goes for Joe's opinion.

We all know what bat and ball combo's will be used in 2010 so that should put the issue to bed.

Donnie,

It's only if the batter intentionally
hit's at the pitcher. Most of us know when it is intentional.

Happy Holidays

Omar,

I understand where you are coming from.
This new rule is the right rule for the majority of players I have spoken with and that is less than a true majority of all players. lol

Some us remember the days of only true home run hitters hit home runs, true hitters getting hits and good defensive players getting to show their worth.

Some say lets go back to the old way hit as many balls out of the park unlimited runs etc. BUT they still want to use the new hotter equipment.

In my opinion lets go back but with single wall aluminum bats if that is the game they want to play. Other than that SS/USA rules are fine for now.

Softball was fun in 1973 and still fun today.

Discussion: The majority did speak for themselves in 2009--

I would also like to apologize to the players that read and post their opinions on here for my behavior.

I was starting to make it personal and that is wrong. This board should be about information and ideas. Any and everyone in our softball community should be able to express themselves
without ridicule from anyone, even if we don't agree.

Happy Holidays to all of softball friends and foes.
