I'm a retired Chief Warrant Officer; served 22 great years (71-93); served most of my career as a counterintelligence officer working primarily in special ops assignments; got a bunch of medals, but my most important document was my retirement papers. I had a great career serving with some of the finest officers, NCO's, and enlisted troops in the military and I'm still working as a Department of Army Civilian (GS15) at Fort Belvoir, VA. God Bless All the Vets! Steve Shannon Damon's |

May 13 Cobrapilot Men's 50 27 posts | Armed Forced: Did you Serve? Taterman: We must have met each other as I was also in C/16 Cav. My call sign was Darkhorse 20, and I mostly flew slicks but on occasion would help out the Cobra guys and fly front seat for them. I enjoyed myself in the Cobra so much that I later got a Cobra transition and went on to Cobra maintenance test flight training and spent the rest of my career flying cobras. If you are interested, Darkhorse has a web site, http://home.jps.net/~dhcntrl. It has some great information about the unit and all the personnel. It was a great unit and it provided me with some great memories and friends. Take care and keep swinging. Cobrapilot |

Demonstrated a little against the war. Still a little bitter about how Americans treated us. Now, all military people are Heros just for showing up. I too respect and support the troops. Not the War. |

June 19 Mitch Men's 50 68 posts | Armed Forced: Did you Serve? Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. Although my Father doesn't read this website, I'd like to wish him a Happy Father's day. He was at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941 when it was attacked. He's alive today at 90 and doing great. I hope I've got his genes. I'm extremely proud of him and that's the reason why I stayed in the Air Force for 24 years. God Bless you all. |
June 22 TaterinGa Men's 50 179 posts | Armed Forced: Did you Serve? Thanks to all responses: due to this post, I have found some lost friends that I served with in Can Tho, VN; Cobrapilot: you & I were on the same field. Cannot wait to work the next Darkhorse reunion into my schedule. Even though VN was not accepted by most Americans; I still would not take anything for that experience. |
