From some facts and rumors weights that haven't been shaved, rolled or altered work the best for durability!!!!!!!!

My suspicion is it has nothing to do with the weight of the bat but more the inconsistency in manufacturing. This is the primary reason a major player in this industry has since moved manufacturing back to the USA approximately five months ago and the reason The GBA "Veteran" will now be made here as well. When you have a carbon fiber bat that is as thin as the senior bats are extra precautions are needed in the quality control. In China "what is quality control anyway" When you turn your back melamine is added to dog food, Lead into children's toys and poison to drywall. IMO any "Senior" bat made there is subject to quality issues.

Mad dog, I've heard of 28el's as well as 26bal cracking.
It would be more accurate to measure the bat speed of those that are breaking them or, believe as Marv19, it may be all about quality in the manufacturing process.

mad dog. It is a tough question to answer. I don't know anyone who knows the answer.

I'd personally like to know that same thing regarding Mikens and other manufacturers as well but my guess is no one knows the answer to that question. Not trying to be funny with this response.

mad dog, are the Texas winters getting to you? An uncharacteristic grumpy response to hitman and Marv.

Mad dog,
Sorry if I offended by not directly answering what weights and types had broken but my answer was correct as a number have been repoted shaved, rolled and altered. It must really take an ego-maniac to have altered what is already a really good bat.

I think that even if everybody posts the weight that broke the most it may only be because that is one of the most popular sizes so you will have no way of calculating percentages for comparison. From above you have 2-27els,1-28el and 1-26 balanced, you need a lot bigger sample size to analyze anything. Sopken by a true engineer.

hitman this is for my own use when looking to buy one.i talked with the guy from reebok international this past weekend and there were 4 or so that came back shaved.i'm trying to see if any particular weight is more subject to breaking.
surf888 it is a simple question for anyone who has had a reebok bat break, what was their weight of their bat,not so hard.

omar get tired of thread hijackers not staying on subject(and promoting someone else's product),which to me was very simple.

mad dog,
Here is the information on my 28 oz endload Reebok Melee that cracked after 60 swings.

12/22/2010
Temp. 70 degrees
40 swings
Balls 44-375 Trump Stote that are stored in my house at room temp.
Bat is stored in my house.
The park is about 10 minutes away. We hit every Wednesday from 3:30 to about 5:00.

12/29/2010
Temp. 60 degrees
20 swings
Same balls 44-375 Trump Stote that are stored in my house at room temp.
Bat was in Pyro-Flite bat warmer from the time I left my house and at all times at field. Bat is stored in my house.
The park is about 10 minutes away.
Noticed bat was cracked. I live in NE Florida and bat was rotated after every swing.

60 total swings = cracked bat

Reebok International received my broken bat on 1/6/11 and I received my replacement bat on 2/23/11.

John, They replaced it? You got it?

Mad Dog, did you use one at CST? Did you like it?

Mad Dog, I made some calls and looked into this topic. learned that 28 bats broke. Most were end caps and that was solved. Some but few were barrels, some had few swings others had many swings, some were discovered shaved. They sent out replacements last 2-3 days. If what john27 shares in his post was accurate, they replaced his bat.

Got a call from a guy yesterday. He has 1,200 swings already. Bat still has good pop. he seems very pleased. I am in cold country, have two tourneys and hundreds of swings on a 27 balanced, still has good pop and holding up well. Surf

Canljack: I'm going to need to see that picture of you holding that bat and an umbrella at the same time :O)
It's suppose to snow in parts of L.A. Hemet has a hail warning in effect for Saturday. High of 50 in SD tomorrow. 100% chance of rain and a thunder storm or two according the national weather web site. But if you get me that picture I'll post it. Good Luck :O)

Kennard, I was told incorrectly that replacements went out earlier than they actually did. They went out Wednesday from New England. Just don't have any control over the International side of things but am pitching in there for you.

Mad Dog, I just got my 27EL. When it warms up, I'll give you reports as to how it compares with my balanced. I share with players that EL is more for guys who like to pull the ball with power and balanced is more for guys that like to hit the alleys and opposite fields. Surf

Well Marv19 No picture, No Tourney (Rain)...Life goes on. We'll see what happens this weekend in Riverside at the BLFD; I get to use my USSSA Reebok Vector. 200+ swings and lots of pop for a 1.20 USSSA Bat. Best looking Bat on the market. And no Webbing cracks. $99.00 on line. Great BP bat. More pop than my ComBat Virus, which cost more.

My Reebok is up to about 50 cuts now-still not popping like a U2, but holding up. Hoping it will get hotter.
