WELL THEN, WHAT ABOUT 60'S AAA; WHO's THE BEST?
Ga/Al Masters, TAG, IDC, La. Legends are all solid teams (as well as others) in the South. What about other regions of the country? I understand that there are 13 teams at Dalton.

There are three that are close to being majors and are probably among the best in the Ohio/Mich/Pa area..they are the WINDSOR CHIEFS out of Ontario, Canada; HAWKS NEST out of PA and ARTRIA LIVING out of Detroit.

We have played the B.C.Marauders out of Canada several times this year. They are always playing late on Sundays. I think they could be Major next year !!!

Ga/Ala Masters play a lot of teams from all over the country since they travel so much. This should be an advantage for them at the SPA.

South Florida Heat will be tough if they're at the SPA. Always a good team.

I hear mad dogs team from Texas is pretty salty.

Next year there should be two new 60AAA teams for the South, Columbus LX (majority of this years Columbus Ga. 55 team) and a team based out of Memphis.

Good luck to all the teams in Dalton.

perly thanks for the props, even tho we don't see eye to eye a lot.we are more of the middle of the road type team, depending on our frame of mind when getting to the tourney we can beat a lot of teams, but then lose to them just as easy.

the ga/al masters have always been a good team,i have been playing them since i was playing in the 55's.

the fl heat are always good, and the team from BC the marauders are always good,we'll run into them at phx, they usually don't come down to dalton.

good luck to all and if ya get a chance come and howl at the mad dog,#77 of the dallas spurs....

Ga. Ala. Masters, Fla. Heat,Hawks Nest,Stall's Post, C.H Engineering Va. Cavaliers(depending on which team shows up). I have seen these guys play and they will give you all you want.I know that I left somebody out. Please do not hold that against me. There are teams rated Major in one association and AAA in an other it is hard to keep up. We need the big three to get together and get these ratings matched up.So that everybody is the same. Thanks Harry

This year I'm with the Columbus Ga 55's.
I'll be moving to 60's next season.

Mad dog, my wife and I don't always see eye to eye either but I have to admit sometimes she's right. We've probably played against each other since I played with the Ga/Al Masters 55's in 2007 and 2008.

I was impressed with the Stahl Post 60 team in Manassas. Good hitting team with a very good defense. We did not get to play the Hawks Nest team who won the 60 AAA. Stahl came in 2nd.

Kind words LOCAL:
The Marauders will be in a rebuilding stage next year as many of the BC Marauders are moving up to a new Marauder 65s team in 2012 so the 60 team will have a different look in 2012. e.g "Enviro-Vac Marauder 60s".

Just my thoughts from the west as most of the above comments are about eastern teams.....ga/ala are very good as well as the heat from so florida...but they don't venture out west except for maybe the phx natls.....the teams that played at rockin reno this year were quite strong....won by the hawaiian team....dallas spurs that md played on did good and our TANEL360 Team out of austin played well....doker...there were 23 teams in the tourney.....THE BEST TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR ON THE BEST FIELDS IN SOFTBALL....WE NEED MORE TEAMS FROM OVER THERE TO COME TO RENO NEXT YEAR..........IT'S AWESOME IF WE PLAY ON THE SAME FIELDS AGAIN!!!

Why do the teams from the East ALWAYS have to go out west? Why dont the west teams go East occasionaly. It cost the same to go either way! JMO

unless they have a world there, what tourneys in the east are big ones like rocking-n-reno.you have your easterns for the east, but what else.the only assoc that does anything over here is SPA,with dalton,ga for their worlds.

actually neither side of the country has anything big except for worlds, the only exception is the reno tourney.

Michigan Vet,
Good question. Could it be that there are more teams in the west? In the 55 division alone in this organization better than 60% of the teams registered are west of the mississippi. Not sure about the other divisions.
Are there more tournaments in the west?

ACTUALLY JB THERE IS A TOURNEY EACH YEAR IN KC AND IN OMAHA AND THIS YEAR ONE WAS IN CHICAGO.....MICHVET... I'M FROM SOUTH FLORIDA AND HAVE PLAYED IN THE HALF CENTURY THERE....SO THERE ARE QUITE A FEW TEAMS IN THE EAST WITH SOME EXCELLENT TOURNEYS....THOMAS' TOURNEY IN DC/MANASAS IS A GOOD ONE ....I WAS JUST SAYING ALL SHUD MAKE A POINT TO ATTEND THE RENO TOURNEY AS I BELIEVE IT'S BETTER THAN ALL THE REST...SCENERY,FIELDS ....COMPETITION ETC... AND A BUNCH OF TEAMS IN ALL DIVISIONS!!!!...I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET OUR GUYS TO GO EAST AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR BUT DALTON IS THE ONLY ONE SO FAR EXCEPT THE TOC...WILL KEEP TRYING....DOKER

One of the biggest tournaments in terms of teams (74 teams all AA/AAA) is the Eastern Buckeye Classic SPA Qaulifier in Akron/Barberton OHio.

This year there were 10 75's; 20 70's; 12 65's; 18 60's; 6 55's and 8 50's. All AA and AAA teams. Outside of the Nationals it is the largest tournament east of Arizona.

Here are some facts on tournament attendance:

No doubt, SSUSA has the most teams attending their National tournaments in the west and florida, Terry, Fran and the staff do a tremendous job in organizing those huge events and do a great job.

Subtracting "40's" teams and women's teams, here are the best attended senior tournaments in the USA (this is based on collecting the "teams attending" info from SSUSA, SPA and Huntsman..the ISSA is down right now but will be up later this evening).

All topurnaments listed below include majors and major plus except for THEE Buckeye Classic and Columbus, Ohio..they are both AAA/AA only tournaments.

1. SSUSA Worlds in Phoenix - 271 teams
2. Huntsman - St. George - 257
3. SSUSA Rockin' Reno - 170
4. SSUSA Winter National Fort Myers -147
5. SPA Nationals - 140
6. SSUSA Las Vegas - 136
7. ISSA Worlds - 80 (do not have actual total)
8. SSUSA Spring Worlds Nev/Utah - 78
9. SSUSA Western National Cal - 77
10.SPA Buckeye Classic Qualifier-Akron,Oh - 72
11.SPA Glen Burnie Qualifier-Glen Burnie,Md 58
11.SPA Columbus, Ohio Qualifier - 58

SENIOR MOMENTS gets my vote as the best 60 aaa team I have seen this year. They went up against, recently moved to 55 major, Expert Cars at the Heartland in Chatta. Tn... Senior Moments jumped all over Expert in the early innings, resulting in a 12-3,3rd inning lead. Then Experts speed , defense & power began to overwhelm the older guys, resulting in a 38-19 loss for the gentlemen from Florida, but the showed a tremendous amount of heart & ability against their younger adversaries.
