| Nov. 16 Faulkner45 21 posts | ASA Bats Just moved from Florida to Virginia where they play ASA does anybody out there know of the best ASA bat? Have six bats in my bag but they are all senior bats. |

| Nov. 16 E4/E6 Men's 70 873 posts | r Gary I do carry a putter in my bag, as well as a Nerf Gun, Squirt Gun and AK47, for those hard to reach fences. Some of us take Softball more seriously then others. I too carry 6+ bats most of the time. Not all are Senior Bats. |

Most guys I know carry several bats when going to a tourney, nothing worse then breaking a bat and needing to borrow. Or loosing the feel on a favorite bat and not having a backup that does feel good. Remember different situations may call for better different bat control, ie. lighter or heavier. I shouldnt have to explain this to an accomplished player like yourself, should I. |

And my lie is usually the same, clear air. I can see a couple for the reasons you give, sure no explanation needed. And if he had said two bats, or even three, I wouldn't have thought much of it. But six????? Or more????????? |

I realized that mine kept getting better and better as more guys hit with it at our hitting tent there. The Vector can be hit in cold weather. Is approved for ASA, USSSA, NSA and ISA. Comes with a one year warranty and has very good pop. Those of you who were at our tent and hit with it and those who bought one, please chime in here. I have them and can ship out same day. | Nov. 16 zonk 55 posts | r OG means original, as in the OG Synergy blue & grey from 2006. This is an Easton bat (Flex); and, the model # is SCN3. There also is a red & grey = OG Easton Extended, model # SCX3. Faulkner, there is no simple answer to your question. There is a current situation in the ASA, where there are pre-ABI (after break-in), and post ABI = after break-in. There are many bats from pre-ABI, 2009, that are good bats. LeeLee mentioned some. You can add the Mikens: Recoil, Velocit-e, Demarini: juggernaut, Easton: SCN8, SCN9, Worth: Mutant98, JH Mut98, Rawlings Rush98, Mizuno Crush, TPS SB206, Rip It reaper2 from 2008, etc. Post ABI, the Easton Speed line, TPS Z-1000, Anderson Nanotek, Demarini one.12, the one, Worth 454 line, Miken FX700 line. There are many choices. Go to a shop and dry swing as many as possible, also try your teammates' bats. Balanced vs. endload, stiff vs. flex barrel, one piece vs. two piece, 12" sweetspot vs. longer sweetspot, are other factors. The ypes of ball used is also important. If the 52/300 balls, the post ABI bats are tuned better fot the softer balls. ABI= the ASA rolling and testing a NIW bat 3X.If the bat exceeds 98MPH, it will be banned. The whole hitting barrel is tested. Usually, the pre-ABI bats have a longer break-in. Sorry about the War & Peace answer; but, it is a complex issue. |

Get a life Not that its any of your dam business but I have two batting practace bats and two other bats with a backup in case one of them cracks maybe someday you will hit a ball hard enough to crack a bat and then you'll understand. |

Tool (good name for you), the point is the best who ever played could get by with probably one or two (again, I know they were more durable then, but the insistence on jacked-up bats has greatly contributed to the current lack of durability), so why do the relative ham-and-eggers nowadays need 3 or more times that many? Not just to own, but to "have in my bag". |

| Nov. 18 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | r pricer,no....they are allowing the bats seniors use and the test that is done for them,and are not using the ASA test.the seniors 1.21 test is up b/c they went from using a 47-525 ball,to a 44-375 ball for testing,since the 44 is not as LIVELY as the 47 ball they up the bpf to 1.21 from 1.20.... |
