Discussion: What would you do

almost no one tries to hit the pitcher , but hits up the middle happen. i've had one guy that i know of go up the middle to hurt me took him twice but he knocked me out of the game. but your right thats part of the game it just happens. i my self hit up the middle from time to time i have never hurt anyone, i do say i'm sorry if i hit them, for i didnt mean to. i also dont hit the ball as hard like a lot of players do.

Discussion: Playing in same division

sorry about getting back to you mad dog beeb at the ranch working all week and up there we have no tv or internet sure is nice i dont miss them much. and yes it was maulki. we had 6 aaa teams in our division but maulki was thrown in the just to mess things up would have been a good bracket without them. to me if there is only one team entered in a division maybe there shouldnt be a division for them or drop them in with 55aaa. it sure left a sour taste with us. we have to think from now on how better to spend our money. no we arent going to mesquite tourney, never have liked usssa i have always considered it a clowns game ha ha just my opinion.

my thoughts are with the group that played in the western nationals, pitting the major plus and majors in the same division. we are a 60's AAA team and there was a 60's major team put in our division this past weekend, this was a qualifier but treated like a local yoke-al. we might not have won the tournameny anyway but after the whipping we got to put us in the losers bracket 31-12 , then out of the tournament in the next game. we as a team arent going to enter any more tournaments that are qualifiers that have major teams combined with us. if we are going to play we wish to play within our own division. and we arent whinning we as a team pay a lot of money to enter these tournaments an want them to be even, as rating anyway.

JBTexas i know you all are a AAA team but i have to go by the ratings to be fair to the other teams, but like you say you can play on other teams, you all could make three teams out of yours by picking up some other players thats been done before. hope to see some of you here,on aug. 27 and 28

Discussion: Texas Clubs & Leagues State Tournament

August 27th & 28th our annual 60's clubs and leagues state tournament will be held at Kiwanis Park on north beach, Corpus Christi,tx. this will be open to all 60's teams. you may have up to 4 major or major plus players on a team. you may have two 59 year old players on a team. we are limited on teams for we have just one field. so if your interested call Larry at 361-727-7072 for details. there will be only one division for all teams to be in.this tournament was to be in Sept. but with no SSUSA tournament that weekend and the San Antonio League canceling there tournament that was to happen on that weekend, we thought this might work out better. remember this is a clubs and league event no cards required.

i'm with you webbie25 i like thw bats/ball that we use, i liked it when ssusa played the one up rule with home runs it evened out a base hitting team and a power team, what i would like to see is a real commitment line going to home, have it 25 feet from third instead of 20 feet from home, someone running all that way aint going to run 45 feet back to third. we put it 25 feet from third in league play and in does make a great drifferane in the game.

Discussion: NSA Senior Worlds Bats Permitted

our team ( 60's aaa ) has played a couple of nsa tournaments here in texas and we used the mikens and other senior bats. but the ball the have us use isnt to good. i think nsa in texas wont last to long not just because of the ball but there is a few funny rules.

Discussion: High tourney entry fees and weak prizes...

ssusa, spa, and other orgs. are a business and without them all there would be is the local tournaments and we wouldnt get to play teams from all across the nation. but, and there is always a but.when we won our division in 2009 at the vegas winter world tournament, other than havibg to buy your own ring there wasnt any awards given out that even showed we were there.

so its play and take whats not given out or just play local, me i like going out of state and playing and meeting fellow ball players.

Discussion: Texas tournaments

what i'm afraid of is that having two top qualifying tournaments on the same week end will split the brackets where there wont be enough teams in each division to make a good tournament hope there is at least 4 in 60's AAA since we have to play on friday and take a day off from work. see there #6

Discussion: Pitcher's Screen vs Rocket Bats/Balls

if a pitcher needs a screen to protct his self he should think of another postion to play sense he much have lost his reflexes. we cant dumb down senior ball because a few guys want to hang on to there position when they cant field the ball anymore. i pitch ( 60's divisin) this is just my opinion. if the screen comes here to Texas i'll go fishing.

Discussion: SSUSA unfair!!

OTE24 a player rated major can drop down one level to AAA he does not have to get rerated to do so. any didision can played one division down. so hes not being pentilized.
