Discussion: Best video on how to hit hard and consistently

hey Joe
I have watched Keith's Video in sections he reforced what you do in slumps and how to correct it. If you watch it it will have to help anyone that wants to improve the game. would be nice if he would come to spring traning this year in Fla. at Curt Hollis Spring training event.

Discussion: SAFETY FIRST

there was a bad injury at the winter national in Pensacola a couple weeks ago when the pitcher for Randy Smith was stuck in the side of the head by a thrown ball from the shortstop trying to get a runner at home. you never know when or how the ball going to get you he was watching for the throw to be completed at first when the shortstop was the runner break for home. the pitcher need more protection but to make it mandatory has to take alot of discussion I hope SSUSA and the other will let the players have a part of the discussion before they make it a rule someone has to enforce

Discussion: ISSA ran the worst national tournament ever!

I have to agree with Wagon487 it was the poor run tournament that I have played in since the late 90's. We had one umpire chage his mind 3 times on 1 play. Can understand long playing times because of long game BUT there is no reason you should have rec umpires doing a national tourney. The weather was great, ball were good and we did have some very good umpires but there was enough bad one to make one have second though of every coming back to another event.
the umpires was calling strikes that landed 3 inchs behind the mat and then change his mind of the count between pitches without telling anyone. only one umpires in pool and never move from behind the plate, go and ask the the players on the field and the dugout what did they think the call would be. It was a joke.
We had to laugh or cry and we did both.
Just a very few examples of some of the calls.
you had to be there

the ISA staff did a great job considing the weather and did a good job keeping the teams informed on changes that might happen.
Thanks butch for the Congrats
We played the best tourney of the year We won 4 game by a total of 6 runs and our only loss to Al Estes in the 9th by one run. The travel lodge team and MTC are great teams We are very lucky to win some big game in the final inning The 5 run rule played a BIG FACTOR in keeping the score close in some of our wins.
It was good to talk to you and other hope to see you all soon

Discussion: SPA HOME RUN DERBY

some of the elite player of senior softball put on a show at the SPA National tourney hitting in the derby.
Jack Aronson of Gekle builder hit til his hands bleed and some more of the 50 young guns hit some in the 375- 400 range. In the 55's one of my old buddy for sportplex Tony Vodola Hit 7 out of 7 for that title Gary Denton came in second. But the Show of the event was another of my buds EINSTEIN
Joe came in second because of a hittoff and he had already pitched to over half of the hitter and cheered everone else on every Homerun hit.
But Pete Imlay {hope that spelling right} Bruce Fairchild came in third
We had some great fun in a very good tournament

Discussion: SPA ratings

salio2k
guess we off of spring break now. The Staff and directors are currently looking at all the new and reformed teams in tourney play now. SPA updates their site May 1, July 1, Oct 1 or when they have rerated a team after being watched in tournament play. If SPA has not call or wrote to your team your team is rated what ever the burrent rating are on the SPA site.
Now back on spring break
