OAKLAND COUNTY WOMEN’S SENIOR SOFTBALL

DIV I (42 YRS+) AND DIV II (48 YRS+)

We have a women’s senior softball league for women 42+ and 48+ and over.

LEAGUE FORMAT (MISSION STATEMENT)

The purpose of this league is to provide a place for women 40 (Div I) and 48 (Div II) and over to play recreational softball that is fun and moderately competitive.  The league administrator will place each team in the appropriate division.  The intent is to keep a level playing field for everyone.

Below is our current set up.  Teams play only in their division.  We play 12 games each season. Each team has a home field, playing 7 games at home and 7 games away. If there are an uneven number of teams in the division, they will be byes.

Div I (42+) – Lowered minimum age in 2025 and 2026 to recruit more players and teams

Games are played every Tuesday beginning at 6:45 pm. The 2026 season is May 5 to August 18, 2026.  We will have an All-Star Game and picnic hosted by Farmington on August 25, 2026, the Tuesday following our last game.

This is a great place for “seasoned” women who love to play softball but just can’t compete against the “youngsters” anymore.  Our “senior rules” are very generous to this generation of softball players.

Please contact me if you are interested in joining a team or would like to bring in a new team.  More teams are needed, as the pool of senior female players are shrinking.  New teams would need to obtain a “host” city preferably in Oakland County that would provide or rent them a lined field for 7 home games per season. The team would also be responsible for: coach/manager, shirts, balls, playing equipment, and obtaining, scheduling, and paying for an umpire for all home games.  Sometimes the “host” city can help find an umpire for home games.

This is the only Women’s Senior Softball League in southeast Michigan.
The age was lowered for Div I from 45 to 42 years old and Div II from 50 to 48 years old in hopes of increasing the pool of senior women.
