Runner on first, a left handed hitter at the plate, the first baseman plays even with the bag, blocking the runner to where the runner would have to go outside the first baseman to avoid any contact. So the question, when the ball is hit, does the first baseman have to move out of the way if it is not hit at him? If it is hit at him does the runner have to avoid the first baseman giving him his chance to field the ball? Seems to me the fielder has the right to play anywhere he wants to and the runner must avoid the contact. No different if there was a runner at second and the shortstop played even with the bag, doesn't the runner have to avoid the fielder? Thanks |

I play either first base or third base and have been wearing a mask for over 3 years. Have seen way to many bad hops exploding players faces. I took some ribbing when I started using the mask, but now I see if more and more, much to my delight....listen we are all slower with our reaction times, and many of the fields we play on are not groomed as good as they should be, do not let pride or ego get in the way of protecting yourself! We are all priviledged to play this great game so late in life, let's be safe so that we can play many more years without any serious injury....... |

When my team won at the Major level and got moved up to Major Plus, I was told that I had to carry the plus tag for 2 years. So does that mean that the MBA team for 2016 can only bring 3 players down with them to Major? Thanks |
| Dec. 26, 2015 sheik03 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Just curious It is my understanding that when a team wins a big tournament (like Vegas) that the team is automatically moved up one class for TWO years before the are allowed to move back down to the level they won their big tournament. Is this not correct? Well, if this is true could I get an explanation why MBA Elite 60's reclassified for this coming season when they won almost every tournament in 2014 at 60 Major and now for 2016 they are 60 Major again after only 1 year? Since ALL their players got Major Plus labels last year, dies this mean only 3 of those players are on the team this year and they have 9-11 players all rated major? As I said, just curious. Thanks |
| Dec. 11, 2015 sheik03 | Topic: Bats Discussion: The care of senior bats This past season I was told that the new Dudley Lightning bats kept their "tackiness" if they were cleaned regularly....I bought a six-pack of sponges that I was able to keep wet and wipe off my bat between at bats....the sponge was also easy to wash and reuse....I found that the towel would get dirty and actually seem to do more harm than good as the tournament went on.... |
