Discussion: Passing of Terry McClaskey

Terry McClaskey was my friend and manager for 3 years and a calming force in my life. He was reserved, but had a way of getting his point across with a look. We spoke this last September and I knew that there was something wrong, because he just wanted to talk about days past. He spoke of his departed beloved Wife and their wedding in Ft. Myers on the beach. He spoke of how good of friends Bob and Mel had been. He included me also in that group, but said that I was the biggest pain in his ass along with Ricky Rat. He spoke of how we lost a chance at the Triple Crown do to a bunch of drunks on our team. We had this conversation before over the years, so it was nothing new. He loved those days past, but felt cheated (as I and others also did). After the loss of his beloved Wife Joanna he was just lost. He spoke of how crushed he was when Randy and Ken took the team from him and cast him out. Both of us were in tears as we talked. I received a text this evening from a good friend of mine, giving me the news of his passing. As I write this, I feel a profound loss in my life, but know that Terry and his Wife are together again. I know that Senior Softball will miss him. "It was the best of times and it was the worst of times". Rest in peace my dear friend. We will meet again. I love you :-(

PS: Some will say not all needed to be said, but these were the people and things he felt very strongly about, and spoke about often. He also forgave those who disappointed him.
