Discussion: Runner leaving Base Early

Dave, you confuse me. In the post where you site the rule, you say the runner is out, yet after mck71 post you say he is not out. Kind of murky, if the rule, as sited, is correct, why would the runner not be out?

Discussion: Shin guards

I have seen several discussions regarding shin guards for infielders. I just started playing senior softball last July after a 35 year hiatus from softball. In my first game I took a shot off my left shin, which ended up with a MERSA infection. First time at another league, I got hit again in almost the exact same spot, another infection. Bought soccer shin guards, which helped some, but then while playing first got a bad hop off of a bad throw from my shortstop, and another shot to the same shin, all within about a 3 inch radius. At least no infection this time. As luck would have it it just missed the shin guard.
So, I started a search for a better mouse trap. I bought some motorcycle shin/knee pads, but they didn't extend down far enough to protect my shins. Returned those, and kept up the search.
I finally found a great solution on Amazon. They are called Tactical Police Riot Shin, Knee, and Ankle guards. Cost was $39.99. Received them this morning, and tried them on and they are perfect. Go over the outside of your pants and have 4 velcro straps to hold them in place. Very light weight, no restriction in knee or ankle movement. Hope this helps some others. The company selling them on Amazon is Miami Security Products Inc.
