Discussion: Illinois 60 Major looking for some additional Tournaments this year

I started my Senior Softball with the Chicago Panthers 60 Majors and played 3 years with them. They aged up this year leaving 3 of us behind. I then signed on this year with the Javelin Joe's 60 Major. Great guys, just got smacked by a crazy number of serious injuries. My phone contact is in the above post. Call or Text. Thanks!

Discussion: Illinois 60 Major looking for some additional Tournaments this year

Due to a massive number of injuries to my team, we are for all practical purposes shutting down for the season. Along with my teammates, we have been promised a release if desired. I have played every position on the field except catcher in Major tournaments. Roughly 60% as a middle infielder and 30% as a middle outfielder. Good speed and good arm. No power, but a 700 plus tournament average over the past three major tournament seasons. Like everyone, some tournaments are better than others and I make a few mistakes out there. But I always hustle!! Had planned on playing Columbus (IN), Milwaukee, INDY and Myrtle Beach. We are still scheduled for Rantoul(IL), but that could change. Open to some or any of those or getting qualified and playing Vegas. Please reach out if interested. Discussion: Shin Guard Recommendations

I am going to do some pitching this year. 60 Major and for some Local Open Leagues. I would love some advise on Shin (and knee) guards that others use. Priorities for me are shins, two partially replaced knees and ease of getting the on and off. Brand and where to buy would be helpful.

While I am at it, opinions on helmet under mask or are they too bulky?

Thanks for any advise and guidance!

Hi Roger. I play for the Chicago Panthers and we have the same thing happening with us next year. We are going to have 5-6 left and we are just starting to discuss it. Please stay in touch if you are interested in hearing what we are doing. Or if you want to know who is involved. Thanks!

Discussion: Scorekeeping Question

It really was a rules question I was trying to get answered. To take a couple of points made a little further, it isn’t about performance or even winning. I am playing a game with buddies and living to talk about it! Thanks for the feedback and the answer to my original question! Happy Playing!!

Discussion: Scorekeeping Question

Okay. I like it because I was the RC Fielder! :) Only "physical" error of the tournament for me. BUT, technically speaking, if this were baseball, would there be an error charged? We won the game and the tournament so my teammates were not riding me. Just a "baseball" question that we were debating over a beer or two. Thanks!

Discussion: Scorekeeping Question

Here is the situation at a game at the recent TOC in FL. 5th inning, One Out and guys on first and third. Routine Fly ball to moderately deep Right Center field. Both runners go back to their bases to tag up. The right center fielder drifts back several steps and prepares to catch and throw. But he randomly drops the ball. The runner on 3rd advances home. The runner on first tries to advance to second but the right center fielder picks up the ball a few feet away and makes the throw to second forcing the runner out. And of course the batter is safe at first. Question. Are there any official errors on the play? The runner on third would have scored with or without the drop. Is there an error on the Right Center Fielder for the batter getting to first or is it officially a Fielders Choice since the play was made at second? Discussion among teammates after the game. Thanks in advance.

Discussion: 60 Major in PHX this Winter

60 Major based in Illinois looking to play the Spring Training Classic (PHX- Feb) and possibly the TOC Spring Worlds (Mesquite, NV- Mar). Not really sure of the rules, but I will let those that know more tell me! Solid middle outfielder, but played middle infield this summer out of necessity. Good speed and arm. Hit for average not power. Please either reply or send me a text and we can communicate. 815-670-0289. Thanks. John
