Cubbuster,
Have you had any luck finding a team? If not, we are forming a new team for the 2006 season and could use another outfielder.

Discussion: worth or miken

I had the chance to talk to the Miken rep at BatWars in Lancaster this spring. He recommended the Mayhem and said that it was, basically, the Freak Plus.
I have a little better than a thousand swings on mine now and would agree. It isn't the UII but it is as good as anything else out there. I have not swung the Mayhem 98 so I can't comment there, but the Mayhem is the bat that I use most often now. If the UII goes away, this would be my first choice.

Discussion: Phoenix

I think Dbax is being generous. Rose Mofford is adequate, although by the time the tournament starts the outfields will be getting dry and rough. After that the fields listed are not very good at all. I saw one listing that had Cortez park as a possible site. That field doesn't even have fences. There are several complexes in the area that are much nicer than the ones that have been chosen. I am not sure why a world tournament would be held anywhere but at the best fields, unless it was to save money. And considering the cost of the tournament, that can't be the reason.

Discussion: Pitching machines

I have used the Iron Mike machine for more than a year. It does a great job and will throw either type of ball, although I have found that it is more consistent with the dimpled balls.
Good luck.
