Discussion: Winter Nationals

Looking forward to playing in the Winter Nationals in Ft. Myers. Things didn't work out with me and the Sluggers team. I got fire because I didn't want to pitch anymore if anyone wants the reason. Didn't quite understand it but, oh well. I have talked with Red Dog about playing in the 55's. Just haven't heard from him lately. If anyone is short on players. You can e-mail me at roadhawkinfl@comcast.net. I live here in Ft. Myers. I'll also be at Carter Road For the 50's tournament with MAGNUM this weekend.

Thanks Charlie, I still have at least 11 months in Florida so we will talk a lot. I'm hoping I'll be able and play in some Nationals & Worlds with a team form Illinois. We'll see. I first have to be excepted on one. I made contact with Teams that live in Illinois. I'll just have to show them I'm worth their time. Of course I'll see you in Panama City this coming week. Are you playing AAA or Major?

I also found a bat that may do me some justice this weekend in Panama.

Discussion: Miken Edge

I have used the edge bat and it nothing compared to ULTRA ll. I have hit the ball for good distance with edge. The only complaint wpould be that the barrel doesn't work for me it's too short.

The Freak is my go too bat now...

Has any one had an opportunity to try the Freak + or the Freak 98?

I hear it's just as good if not better than the U2

Charlie,
U2s are good and I know a lot of people wish they could continue using them in the many tournaments. I just like the idea of the game being the game and the home run coming when the homerun is supposed to. Of course I would agree with many that the ball situation should be changed. We should up the grade go back to the 47 core ball and let the games be the games. I can't say that I haven't liked using the Ultra because I have. I'm just not one to complain about the ball or the bat. It's all in the head... Hitting is hitting and the real homerun hitters will still get their share.

Note: When the Ultra's cme out the game changed and then you had the base hitters start putting the ball in the air and now when you go to batting practices no one works on the hits. It's all about "How far did it fly?"

take care Charlie.. Ha Ha LOL

Are there any mid west teams playing in Panama on August 5th. Would love to meet with the manager and team players. Especially if you are from Southern Illinois. I posted a message earlier about relocating to Southern Illinois....Mt Vernon.

The team I''ll be with is called SLUGGERS. We're from Ft. Myers, Florida

I'm looking forward to possibly hook up with a fifty plus team in Ilinois. I'm relocating to Mount Vernon next June/July.

Have pitched and played outfield. Strong hitter! Hope to hear from teams interested in good power hitter.
