April 7 Player999 4 posts | What's next? Demanding to use the gloves of opponents who can field well due to the suspicion that they must be better fielders because they are using a superior mitt? |

April 8 Player999 4 posts | You will find information on this rule in the 4/2 meeting minutes posted in the union county senior softball website. Previous meeting minutes expand on what the rule entails. Seems to be something they will enforce on a trial basis for the 1st 8 games on the season. |
April 8 PoollShark Men's 50 90 posts | I attempted to access the UCSSL website and got this warning: "Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!" If you could copy and paste the pertinent info here it would be greatly appreciated, I really would like to read it. Thanks |

April 8 Player999 4 posts | The gist of the rule is. For the first 8 games of the season in the 50+ league, all bats must be placed against the backstop behind the catcher and both teams are allowed to use anyone's bat they want. In my opinion this shows complete disregard to the player who purchased the bat and the fact that these bats have a limited performance life. It does not seem right that somebody spends $ on a nice bat and the rule demands that his personal bat is fair game for anyone to use. There is a financial consideration here that this rule simply ignores. |
April 8 PoollShark Men's 50 90 posts | Yes, I did. I just made sure my antivirus software was up to date and went to the site anyway, it appears safe. The rule: "After lengthy discussion and comments regarding the 4 proposed options regarding bats, 50+ Division teams voted for a change in which all (ASA approved) bats, provided by individual players, may be used by any player on either team during each UCSSL game. Bats must be placed against the backstop (or other common area) prior to the game, and returned there after every at bat throughout the game, for the common use of all players." That rule sucks my friend but it does say it was voted on by the teams. Did your rep at the meetings agree to this? If so I'd be having a word with him. I spend my hard earned cash on a top of the line composite bat and the players on the other team can use it whenever they want? I don't even want to let the players on my team use my bats, these things break too easy. I'd like to think that a rule like that would never fly in my league and if it did I would most likely never buy another bat again. |
