Nov. 11 Jim Men's 65 9 posts | Hi Guys: Just noticed SSUSA has put their "2004 Bat Policy" on the top right hand corner of this website. I think it's very player friendly of them to let us all know what bats they'll allow in their 2004 Qualifiers and Championships. ... Interestingly, they are one of the few national softball associations to still allow us to use our Ultra IIs (LVSSA, also?) and do not require the previously banned ASA bats to be "re-certified." Apparently, using 47 x 375 balls has satisfied their concern regarding player safety. We can continue to use our Ultra IIs in SSUSA/WC's events. Yea!! Thanks Terry. ...... Happy Holidays ... Nov. 11 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | Thats great! Now, if they would mandate that all games in qualifiers and nationals have two umpires, official score keeper, score boards and a minimum fence distance of 300 feet, they would be the favorite association of many senior softball players! |
Nov. 11 Coach Men's 80 15 posts | I can now buy my new PST MAX as our league goes by the Senior Softball_USA rule book. |
Nov. 11 The Pro 81 posts | Kudos to SSUSA for being the first major association to allow the players to use the "approved" bats they bought in the past year or so. It is a bold statement and shows thier support of the Senior Softball player. I believe this will assure them of remaining the Number 1 association in tournament participation. Hopefully other Senior associations will follow suit. |
Nov. 13 Gary Heifner 248 posts | Hi Jim: Great to hear Terry has the balls to stand up do what is right. For me, the Miken is a good bat and makes the game exciting. Those who don't like the composites can go to plano etc. next year and play dink ball. If the Vegas association holds firm, I will have the two national tournaments I would like to play in. The others can once again offer dink ball to those who like that kind of game. I can finally buget my retirement money and won't have to worry about buying two or three new bats to enjoy a game that I have played for over 40 years. |
Nov. 19 wronghander 1 posts | Thanks SSUSA. I am not a home run hitter but my confidence level is much higher when i hit with the Miken Ultra II. |
May 17 blitz3 4 posts | Thanks to ssusa for making a command decision on what bat we can use. Foxbat3 |
May 24 cueball 1 posts | the ultra 11 is allowed in our league play in mn. most of the guys have one. im 70 years old and am glad that i can use a bat that will hit the ball over the infield, with the 375 balls we are using. |
July 8 Sam Lee Men's 60 31 posts | Terry-Thank you. When I was critical, I voiced my opinion. I now want to be among the first to congratulate you on your decision to continue allowing the U2. Almost all players want it and thanks to you, SSUSA is being player friendly. Make a decision also to use a 525lbs compression ball when the temperature goes above 80. Once again, congratulations. You don't have to worry about painted bats and that stupid bat policy. In SSUSA, if you can tell black(U2) from grey(U1) from titanium then that is all you need. Remain player friendly and thrive. And keep your eye on USSSA. They allow a good ball(525 lbs in the heat) and a good bat(SCX2). They are your closest competition. Otherwise, the other major associations make us hit a sock with a broom stick and on 300 ft fences. |
