Throwing the glove during a play.
Saw the previous discussion on this topic, but did not see any clarification on whether the glove must make contact with the ball. I was thrown out at home on a play where the outfielder tossed his glove while running for the ball. It was unsure as to whether or not the glove touched the ball. It was my understanding that tossing the glove during a live ball play was not allowed. Anyone know???

The glove, in the hypothetical given, must make contact with the ball in order for the award of bases as described by SSUSA Rulebook §8.4(10) C. on page 47 ... Making contact with the ball is an umpire's judgment call ... The mere act of throwing the glove is not a violation ...
