Dec. 15, 2016 AJC Men's 60 218 posts | Miken softball gloves Does anyone have any info on Mikens softball gloves ? I'm looking to get a new glove and someone mentioned that the leather is actually pretty soft and we'll made. From what I've heard was the break in period isn't that long as a lot of other gloves that are much stiffer. Any info would be appreciated! |
Dec. 16, 2016 cw Men's 65 79 posts | Hi AJC. I have the 13 1/2 'H' web model and I'm very happy with it. Minimal break-in time and comfortable. I play outfield and the only knock on the glove would be I would have liked it to be a little bigger. I would have preferred a 14" model, but I wanted that style web. Our shortstop has the same glove so I'm sure it's fine for the infield, judging by his excellent play :-). I am interested in the seeing the new Boombah Veloci gloves I just received info on in an email; looks good on paper, $129 + shipping though. |

Dec. 16, 2016 LoopDaddy 12 posts | Miken is famous for bats. Worth and Mizuno have great gloves that are pretty much broken in. |
Dec. 16, 2016 Tri18 352 posts | Loop, Up until now you are correct: Miken is much more famous for their bats instead of their gloves. But, the glove line is catching up considerablly. Mikens new KOA gloves are slightly softer feeling than most gloves but the pattern and fit are fantastic. My personal glove of choice is their 14" h back since I primarily play the outfield. They come in various colors, sizes, and web patterns now and the pricing is very reasonable. I think they are the best value for dollar out there. The overall quality of Mikens gloves has improved dramatically since this line was introduced. If you need any more information on them feel free to contact me. Also keep in mind that Worth, Miken, and RAWLINGS are owned by the same parent company so quality is all on the upswing with each brand now. Alan Tanner Team 1 Sports Tricoach18@att.net |
