Altered bat at Worlds
Attention all players: Do not spray any sticky substance on the barrel of your bats. Tuesday during Session 2 at the World Championships, a player got ejected from the TOURNAMENT for using an altered bat. He had sprayed the entire barrel with a tacky substance. Rule 3.4(4) includes a sentence that says: Applying a foreign substance to the barrel of the bat constitutes altering a bat. Rule 3.4(6) gives the penalty for this as an ejection from the tournament. Umpires have been advised to watch for these illegal bats.

Rob64 ... I removed your suggestion in this thread about bat shaving because, quite honestly, the suggestion was too stupid to leave on display ... DON'T ALTER BATS ...
