Passing of "The Franchise"
I'm sad to report that Harold "The Franchise" DuPont passed away this last Friday. Harold planned Senior Softball for 18 years with US Pallet, Chicago Classics, and most recently the Budweiser Major Plus team. Harold loved tournament ball and wanted to play every inning of every game and usually did. He was not the best hitter, fielder, or runner, but he did all three very, very well and rarely got hurt despite playing all out. He was a great teammate and friend and a pleasure to coach. To the DuPont family we pass on our sincere condolences. Rest well "Franchise"!!

This was really nice to come across. My sister and I were on the phone looking for address simultaneously. We read through the posts together. Thank you for taking the time to write such nice things, for the prayers, and everything else.

Rest in Peace, Dad....we miss you so much!

"The Franchise" daughter, Shirley

P.S. How did Dad get the nickname "The Franchise"?

suregurl I know the story of how the FRANCHISE received his nickname. Contact me at gymwelch@sbcglobal.net and I will send the info to you. I was a teammate and traveled with him. We all miss him.
