Just finished playing in the 60AAA nationals with the Chicago Classics 60s White. I played catcher and would say between 90 and 95% of the batters used a U2. With the 70' bases, extended pitchers mound and 375 balls, I saw no safety concerns. Yes, the U2 gives a batter an opportunity to hit the ball deeper. I also saw a lot of batters with a U2, choke, and do nothing with it. When batters came up with lesser bats, we moved our outfielders into about 200' or less and NEVER got burned. Can you imagine how boring a game that makes for. The U2s all break. Seniors have millions of dollars invested in these bats. Since they are no longer made, they will phase themselves out in a few years. When they are gone, you must increase the core of the balls back towards 50 core like in the old days. Don't forget guys, back in the old days of single walls, we used hot balls.
