April 2 SSUSA Staff 3505 posts | SSUSA's National Women's Director, Connie Stewart, has tendered her resignation. The following is a copy of the SSUSA's response to Connie's recent decision (also reproduced below.) _____________ April 2, 2012 Dear Connie, First and foremost, thank you for your tremendous efforts over the past several years to grow the Women's Program. Your work has helped the Women's Program to grow not only in SSUSA, but throughout the sport. In addition, we have deeply appreciated your help as a Field Director. You have represented both SSUSA and the sport with passion and tireless energy. We will miss you; but look forward to seeing you on the field -- where I hope you have a chance to relax and enjoy the sport to which you have given so much of yourself. Thank you, Connie! Terry Hennessy Chief Executive Officer Senior Softball-USA _____________ March 30, 2012 Fran and Terry, I would like to Thank You for the opportunity of being the National Women's Director for the past seven years! It seems that the time has flown by and I have enjoyed every minute of it! You gave me such a fantastic opportunity and I appreciated every minute of my tenure. The women's program has seen its ups and downs but the program is now on an upward spiral and pretty stable. I personally feel it will do nothing but grow from this point on. As you both know, the Women's Program is near and dear to my heart...it's my baby! Due to its stability and growth I feel it is to a point where it will continue to grow with the support of you and the Headquarters staff. I am thus resigning my position as Women's Director/coordinator, effective immediately. Jeff and I have had long discussions over my resignation (he wanted to ensure I was making the right decision) and feel that it is now time for me to pursue other interests. I will greatly miss the opportunity to work with the best staff in the entire world, but its time. I want to go out knowing I am leaving the program on a high and in good hands. It has been an honor to have worked with each and everyone on staff. I have made some awesome friends over the years and will never forget all the great experiences I have had. I personally want to say "Thanks" for all the support. I will continue to support SSUSA and will pass my support onto the women's teams. Again, THANKS for giving me a wonderful and great seven years. It's sad to say goodbye to this opportunity but I know in my heart it's the correct thing to do. Sincerely, Connie Stewart |
