FEATURED CLUB: TEXAS HALF CENTURY
Aug. 21, 2015
The Texas Half Century Club started operations in 2008 offering league play in three Texas cities: Corpus Christi, San Antonio and Houston. By the spring of 2009, the club added a local league in Austin.
Building off those early successes, the club expanded the leagues in Houston and San Antonio in 2010 and by 2011 leagues began popping up all over Texas including Amarillo, Lubbock, Dallas, North Texas, Tyler, Houston-Bay Area, Harris County and Baytown thanks to the hard work and coordinating efforts of Keith Parker, executive director of the Texas Half Century Association and SSUSA Clubs & Leagues Mid-South Regional Director, and many more including Larry Kapser, Woody Benson, and Ron Perkins.
Boasting more than 150 participating teams and approximately 2,000 players, the Texas Half Century Club and Leagues provides year-round senior softball throughout Texas.
Additionally, the club hosts four annual, SSUSA Qualifiers including the Heart of Texas, Aggieland Classic, Texas State Championship and Labor Day Classic. With 100 teams attending their annual tournaments, the club hopes to only grow stronger over the coming years.
