BIG TURNOUT EXPECTED FOR SPRINGS WORLDS IN ST. GEORGE

TBA

The 11th annual Spring World Championships returns exclusively to St. George from March 29th – April 3rd. The Spring Worlds attracted 88 teams last year and Senior Softball USA expects to exceed that number in 2016.

“Everyone likes to come here in March/April because the weather is ideal and there’s always something to do for the players and their families” she said. “Who doesn’t want to come here and be able to enjoy the sunshine while much of the rest of the nation is still dealing with winter conditions.”

The Spring Worlds is one of the largest regional tournaments in the nation and the early spring date gives the teams an opportunity to “shake off some of the winter rust and to see how they match up with other teams,” Dowell added.

The Spring Worlds will utilize two complexes in St. George, Little Valley Fields and the Canyon’s Complex, which won the 2011 SSUSA complex of the year. The tournament is expected to bring in over 3,000 players and their families to the area throughout the 6 days of play.
