Great Deal on Slowpitch Softball Book
March 1, 2017
The 336-page “Complete Guide to Slowpitch Softball” is now available for purchase at a special rate through Senior Softball USA, allowing you to save 50 percent off the regular price. The paperback book includes a 69-minute DVD and is regularly priced at $24.95. Get yours now for only $12.50, plus shipping.
It includes not only very clear and detailed instructions on improving the fundamentals of the game, but it discusses strategy, as well.
Author Rainer Martens, a member of the National Senior Softball Hall of Fame (Player Category), spent 16 years as a sports psychology professor at the University of Illinois working with many college and Olympic athletes. He was the sports psychologist for the U.S. Ski team for six years. Martens played and managed one of the top senior softball teams in America: the Florida Legends/ Human Kinetics.
Co-Author Julie Martens, Rainer’s wife, not only played fast-pitch softball, but tennis, basketball and field hockey. With her interest in sports, it was not surprising that Julie completed her doctorate in physical education.
The guide is divided into defense, offense, preparation and coaching and is replete with photos, diagrams and – more importantly – advise based on years of actual participation and practice of sports psychology.
“This book has become the bible of slowpitch softball,” said Terry Hennessy, SSUSA’s chief executive officer.
