2018 Windy City Recap

ELGIN, Ill. – The 2018 Windy City qualifier was held here at Elgin Sports Complex July 27-29 with 18 teams in play.

Starting with the three-team Men’s 65 Silver Division, El Rey’s 65’s (WI) came back to defeat Bags Softball 65 (IA) in the “if” game 16-7 after dropping the championship game 11-10. Chicago Prime 65’s (IL) finished in third place.

Chicago Gray Sox (IL) swept Oshkosh Ambassadors 70 Red (WI) to win the Men’s 70 AAA Division; while Chicago Hitmen 70’s (IL) swept Quad City Old Stars (IA) to win the Men’s 70/75 Silver Division.

Moving to the Men’s 50 AAA Division, top seed Big Hurt Softball/Crest Exteriors (IL) won the three-team division, beating Milwaukee Magic (WI) 23-17 in the championship game.

Another three-team division, the Men’s 55 Major Division, saw top seed WC Thunder 55 (IL) take the division with a 17-9 win over Buster’s Bar & Grill/Benny & Son’s (IL) in the championship game.

No. 1 seed HCI Get-A-Pro 55’s (IA) took home the three-team Men’s 55 AAA Division following its 14-9 win over Luther Group (WI) in the championship game.

In a best two-out-of-three game series to determine the Men’s 60 AAA Division, Playmakers (WI) swept Oshkosh Ambassadors (WI).
