International Goodwill Softball Tour to Mexico Announced

Top Softball officials from the United States and Brownsville, Texas City officials announced a historic tour to promote a softball exchange with Mexico on March 28.
The tour, a joint venture of Senior Softball-USA (SSUSA), the Independent Softball Association (ISA) and the City of Brownsville, Texas announced plans to bring a Senior Softball-USA team to four Mexican Cities in August: Victoria, San Luis, Ciudad Valles and Tampico to promote an exchange of teams in tournaments on both sides of the border.

Mariano “Bean” Ayala (second from left and President and CEO of the Brownsville Convention and Visitors Bureau, is spearheading a move to bring a Senior Softball-USA team on a tour of four Mexican Cities to promote senior softball in that country.
Ayala met with Don Stratton (CEO of ISA, far left), Terry Hennessy (CEO of SSUSA, third from left), Keith Parker (SSUSA/ISA Mid-South Director, second from right) and Tuffy Martinez (Brownsville Sports Diretcor far right), to make plans to send the team to Victoria, San Luis, Ciudad Valles and Tampico from Aug. 4-10.
The team will play Mexican teams in those cities in exhibition games designed to promote senior softball in Mexico – and to bring Mexican teams to the US to compete in both the Senior Softball World Championships in Phoenix in October and the ISA World Series in Polk County, Florida, in September.
