US Senior Teams to Compete in Taiwan, Japan

Senior Softball-USA is making a tenth trip to exotic Japan and an inaugural trip to Taiwan in a Far East Tour this November.

The Senior Softball-USA teams will compete in tournaments in Taipei, Taiwan, and in the All Japan Champion Cup International Softball Tournament in Tanabe, Japan.

The Far East Tour, from Nov. 19-30, features exhibition games in each country in addition to the tournaments, as well as sightseeing, shopping – and a unique chance to get to know senior softball players in Taiwan and Japan.

“There are welcome banquets featuring local music and entertainment,” said Susan Ruth, director of International Sports Holidays. “Players and their families will have a chance to meet the mayors of our host cities, and see exotic sites – including temples, markets, parks, wharfs, shrines and a palace museum.”

In addition to the sightseeing, Taipei offers unique shopping from pottery and porcelain to pocket knives and special Chinese brushes.

In Japan, the Senior Softball teams and their families will experience the very root of Japan’s culture in the ancient Kumano region on the Kii Peninsula.

“Enchanting sacred sites, ancient Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes, soothing hot springs, authentic cuisine and traditional countryside hospitality await those who journey to Kumano,” said Susan Ruth.
