SOUTH JERSEY SENIOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE PURCHASES DEFIBRILLATORS
June 1, 2010 – Senior Softball-USA
John Blesi has been working his tail off trying to secure a defibrillator or two for use in the South Jersey Softball League ( www.sjssl.org ). As league president, he wrote letters to several of the major corporations in the Philadelphia/ Camden area requesting financial support to purchase defibrillators with no success. Then almost out of nowhere, he received some tremendous support from a South Jersey retirement community called Cardinal Village. Cardinal Village sponsored a ‘softball day for seniors" last spring and raised more than $1,000 for the SJSL defibrillator fund. With that amount and a $5 donation from each of the league’s 200 members, he was able to buy two of the life savers.
