Its East & West for 70s

March 1, 2001 – Letters from readers

Upon receiving my copy of the November edition of Senior Softball News, I was pleased to read that the eligibility area for the 70-age bracket was changed to East and West of the Mississippi River.

Conveying this information to some of our players, the reaction was positive to the possibility of Car Center returning to the Senior Softball World Champion ships for the first time since 1997.

Upon receiving my copy of the January Senior Softball News, there was no indication of this change in the eligibility area. I would like a clarification of the rule.

Gene Schaen

Field Manager, Car Center 70s

Newark, Delaware

Editor's Note: The November Edition is correct. 70 Division teams can draw players from East or West of the Mississippi River. The change was inadvertently left out of the map explaining SSWC eligibility in the last edition.
