2ND WIND CELEBRATES 15 YEARS

Sept. 1, 2010

By Connie Stewart

And Annie ”Princess” Gronau

In 1995 a Senior Women’s team from Southern California was formed after two ladies went to watch a simple 4-team Legend League in Garden Grove. This team, which is still in existence today, is one of the first teams in our now 200 + strong Senior Women’s softball teams in the United States.

The Original team’s first experience was at the World Series in Detroit in 1996. They endured the deluge of rain, getting their butts kicked and were out of the tournament the second day.

However they came away from this tournament with a lot of friendships, experiences and pride!

SSUSA would like to Congratulate 2nd Wind on their recently celebrated 15th Year reunion in July.

This reunion was organized to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and fond memories of great female softball players. Attending were representatives of every era of the teams 2nd Wind and 2nd Wind Majors.

Booths were set up with memorial shirts, jackets, sweatshirts and championship rings and easels holding all of the championship teams' photos were displayed. What a great example of camaraderie!
